EN: Teacher's Visual Library of 40+ iPad Apps ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | LMOOC | Scoop.it

"I love it when I come across such educators curated lists of apps because I know since these apps are reviewed by fellow teachers then there is a high possibility that they will work for other teachers in different settings too.

For instance, the wonderful work embedded below and which has been created by the folks in St.Plunkett Oliver Primary School http://www.stoliverplunkett.qld.edu.au/Pages/default.aspx ; is a great library of apps that every teacher should have the chance to explore. It contains a set of useful apps pertaining to different categories. Most, if not all of these apps, have been already reviewed here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning before but it is much more practical to see them  compiled and organized all in one page."

This list includes a lot of apps that are also available for Android as well, and probably a lot of them are also available for Windows phone/tablets.

Blended Teaching of World Languages

LTMOOC is a collaborative course for language teachers of all levels to discuss and gain a deeper understanding of emerging trends in blended teaching and learning of world languages, including the methodology, best practices, and practical application of the blended and online classroom. The course will facilitate discussion and development of ideas in a connectivist-style MOOC, inviting all course participants to contribute.

Instreamia founders Ryan and Scott Rapp have organized this course in response to the hundreds of inquiries and requests received regarding the Instreamia adaptive learning platform and its popular flagship course SpanishMOOC, which is known as one of the first MOOCs for teaching a foreign language. Scott will share his experience teaching SpanishMOOC including its many challenges and successes from both an educational and technological perspective. LTMOOC will benefit from the wealth of insights and knowledge already contributed by thousands of SpanishMOOC participants, which include first-time language learners, ivy-league professors of languages, and polyglots who speak over a dozen languages

EN: Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are online learning events that can take place synchronously and asynchronously for months. Participants assemble to hear, see, and participate in backchannel communication during live lectures. They read the same texts at the same time, according to a calendar. Learning takes place through self-organized networks of participants, and is almost completely decentralized.
