Cultural forces that define leadership… | lmarsden | Scoop.it
What if Ron Ritchhart's  cultural forces were applied  to the concept of leadership? How might a leader, in any context, ensure that he or she provides time, sets expectations, engages in interactions, uses language, models actions, creates an environment and ensures opportunities that empower the community to flourish? As a leader, irrespective of your context, what…

The Overselling of Ed Tech

Show me something that helps kids create, design, produce, construct — and I’m on board. Show me something that helps them make things collaboratively (rather than just on their own), and I’m even more interested — although it’s important to keep in mind that meaningful learning never requires technology, so even here we should object whenever we’re told that software (or a device with a screen) is essential.

Les nouvelles technologies peuvent aider, mais sont loin d'être essentielles. Trop souvent sont confondus moyens (les TICE) et objectifs (acquisitions de savoirs, savoir-faire...).

Battle of the Classrooms: Apple, Google, Microsoft Vie for K 12 Market

Battle of the Classrooms: Apple, Google, Microsoft Vie for K 12 Market | lmarsden | Scoop.it
It’s terribly confusing, but perhaps no coincidence, that three of the world’s most prominent consumer technology companies—Apple, Google, Microsoft—each boast a “Classroom” tool aimed at K-12 educators and students. After all, what better way to secure a foothold in the market than impressing one’s brand to future consumers at a young age?

Oskar Almazan's curator insight, March 7, 12:42 AM
A digital footprint is a trail of data you create while using the Internet. In includes the websites you visit, emails you send, and information you submit to online services.  A "passive digital footprint" is a data trail you unintentionally leave online. Your digital reputation is directly related to the digital footprint you leave behind. The impact of both is huge as a positive digital reputation can help one a lot and also a negative will make you fall out on many things.
