Why the AI hype cycle won’t end anytime soon | #ArtificialIntelligence #Future  | lmarsden | Scoop.it
Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Alphabet, says AI can be harnessed to help solve major challenges like climate change, food security, and many other problems in health care, energy, and other critical sectors. Machine learning algorithms can directly analyze thousands of previous cases of different types of diseases and make their own conclusions as to what constitutes a sick individual versus a healthy individual, and consequently help diagnose dangerous conditions including cancer. Also, the technology is being fed big data to help scientists understand and predict the effects of climate change.

Some in more depth than others, our VR classes only exist in the STEM labs at the moment, but we are working to set up experiences across the school, and instead of designing camps with a learning focus, such as a robotics camp, our camps have had the learning experiences identified and expanded upon.

The Overselling of Ed Tech

Show me something that helps kids create, design, produce, construct — and I’m on board. Show me something that helps them make things collaboratively (rather than just on their own), and I’m even more interested — although it’s important to keep in mind that meaningful learning never requires technology, so even here we should object whenever we’re told that software (or a device with a screen) is essential.

Oskar Almazan's curator insight, March 7, 12:42 AM
A digital footprint is a trail of data you create while using the Internet. In includes the websites you visit, emails you send, and information you submit to online services.  A "passive digital footprint" is a data trail you unintentionally leave online. Your digital reputation is directly related to the digital footprint you leave behind. The impact of both is huge as a positive digital reputation can help one a lot and also a negative will make you fall out on many things.
