I've done most of these already, so the few I haven't I will probably look into. This is good advice whether you are on a job hunt or not! It's good to keep information updated at all times. You never know what opportunities may come about!

For the "spoon approach" outlined to be effective (and not create a "death by 1000 uncoordinated initiatives), I suggest strong shared values are needed and a step towards this is a Leader (not necessarily charismatic) who:

a. Communicates well the vision for the enterprise and has mechanisms for obtaining employee's "help" in evolving it

b. Articlates clearly how enterprise values guide the vision

c.Links the initiatives taking the spoon approach to organisational values and the vision

d. Visible "sponsors" the activities and actions needed .....

Ivon Prefontaine's curator insight, January 10, 2014 6:08 PM

It is difficult because there is little real conversation and listening that goes on. It is all about agendas and protecting the status quo.

Perhaps they are missing the point a little though, that the future is increasingly networked and flat. Never mind...they'll get there.

Alex Watson's insight:

I love the fact that the art is taking place within the context of improving learning and performance. When we learn, we really do need to engage all of the senses. I'd never heard of constructionism before...but I wholeheartedly believe in learning by creating.  As we create , we are being created.
