Geordanne Shively's insight:

My thought:  why is it so hard to find apartments in Melbourne? Is it because its expensive?  That would be cool to live in a different place like Australia. I would have to budget good for that.

Geordanne Shively's insight:

My thought: I like the safety process in the apartments are really good. You need to have some sort of way to arrange people if you are there is an emergency.  For example in this article a wall collapsed. And then to top that off all 15 apartments had some kind of problem to it.  But with a problem like that you could also lose a lot of business and that’s exactly what they did. Some people won’t even move back to the apartments.

Where the Middle Class Spends 75 Percent of Its Income on Housing and Transport

Where the Middle Class Spends 75 Percent of Its Income on Housing and Transport | living indpently on your own | Scoop.it

A fresh look at the most expensive cities from the Center for Housing Policy and the Center for Neighborhood Technology. (Where is the Least Affordable Neighborhood in the U.S.? Take a guess!

My thought: this is a very interesting survey and it does seem very accurate. In most major cities, we spend the majority of our income on planes, trains, automobiles, and dwellings. I think in the cities you would take buses but then again that would still cost money. In small cities or rural areas, housing can be quite cheap. In the Miami metro area, middle-lower-income families spend a whopping 72 percent of their income on housing and transportation (henceforth: H&T). In Washington, D.C., average monthly H&T costs are the highest in the nation. But as a share of the capital's high income, H&T is, remarkably, the most affordable of any major city. I feel ike that would be me. Spending most of my income on housi9ng. but all in all I think its worth it.

Experience international service apartments in Gurgaon. Kitchenettes, restaurant, gym, free wi-fi, complimentary breakfast. Fully serviced living experience.

My thought, I would love to live in a place that has all this stuff. I could live in this kind of an apartment if I won big money. But the real question is if I really want to live in this kind of apartment. I mean if you have that kind of money why wouldn’t you just buy a house? I feel that in the short run an apartment is cheaper. But in the long run an house is cheaper.

Cost of living rises, hits Orange Walk the Hardest

Cost of living rises, hits Orange Walk the Hardest | living indpently on your own | Scoop.it

Belize City, October 15, 2012 The Government-sponsored Statistical Institute of Belize has confirmed what Belizeans already know: that the cost of living continues on a steep, upward trend.

My thought, the fact that we are in an economic down fall will make it harder for people to live on their own. But in some places it is already a struggle to just to put food on their plate. SIB’s data is on the rising cost of goods throughout the first eight months. In 2012 indicates that inflation stood at an average of 1.7%.  feel like it’s going to be hard work to live on my own but you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

Geordanne Shively's insight:

My thought: I think that a ten story apartment is kind of unnecessary. I meant even if you want to live an in big place I feel like you wouldn’t want to live in a ten story apartment. People would just live fight on top of you or right under you. If I had to I would budget to even try and live in a place like that.  And for the fact that I would have to budget It would be hard for me to go in a place that I wouldn’t even like to stay in every night.

Barangaroo waterfront apartments revealed

Barangaroo waterfront apartments revealed | living indpently on your own | Scoop.it

.

My thought: Lend Lease is pushing on with proposals for the first waterfront apartments on Balangao south; I would love to live there to. But further apartment releases to the north of the inner Sydney precinct are in limbo pending approval for James Packer’s six-star hotel casino. The developer lthought of plans yesterday with the NSW government for the first 159 apartments. This would really happen. The prices will also be quintessentially Sydney. At about $20,000 a square metre of floor area, the one-bedroom apartments will range from about $1 million and the two- bedroom units from $2 million. I wish I could live here but the answer is no to.

My thought: A contemporary block of 3 x 1 bed & 9 x 2 bedroom apartments. Built December 2009. Located with in a walking distance to town, less than 1 mile from the High St. A short stroll from Waitrose & St James square. All come fully equipped with modern facilities, including: Flat screen TV, Free WIFI, fully equipped kitchens, modern bathrooms with showers. The bedrooms are all large with twin or doubles. These apartments become great value per person, & are a more spacious & comfortable alternative to a hotel. Now this sounds more like me living. But is it attainable? My answer would be no. I only have one job and I need to find a place close to my work and I can budget food better. But maybe if I had a roommate or 3, this would work.

My thoughts, the problem about low cost apartments are the leaking roofs. That makes sense. But just because it’s a low cost do not mean that there is going to be that many problems. I mean you would have to prioritize your problems. I mean a leaking roof is big problems buy something little like no heating wouldn’t be that big of a problem. Just but more blankets.
