It will depend mostly on the attackers status in the community...or "class"...remember the last two high profile sexual assaults...RAPES...were committed by upper class boys who were then released unpunished...and in fact...the women were subject to ridicule and criticism for reporting the attacks... Despicable at best...but apparently what the Left here are trying so hard to get a foothold in America under Sharia....sad...

AP Lied To Protect Obama: No One At DHS Resigned Over Decision To Release Illegals, No Evidence Decision Wasn’t Obama’s Other Than Obligatory WH Denial | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it

Background – AP Blames DHS, Not Obama, For Prisoner Release, Says Official Resigned Over It

ICE statement calls AP report “inaccurate and misleading.” Says that Mead told ICE leadership “several weeks ago” he planned to retire.

— Jordan Fabian (@Jordanfabian) February 27, 2013

Excerpted from Mediaite: According to a breaking report from the Associated Press, an official with Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE) has resigned as questions about the government’s decision to release imprisoned illegal immigrants due to pending budget cuts continue to mount. In an email obtained by the AP, Gary Mead, the head of enforcement and removal operations at ICE, informed his coworkers that he will leave his post in April. A spokesperson for ICE, however, says that Mead has been scheduled to retire for many months after his 40 years of service.

A spokesperson for ICE told CNN’s Jim Acosta that Meade was not resigning but retiring. He “announced several weeks ago to ICE senior leadership that he planned to retire after 40 years,” Acosta wrote on his Twitter account. ABC News producer Jordan Fabian quotes the ICE official attacking the AP for their “inaccurate and misleading” report.

UPDATE: AP has revised their original story and acknowledged that Mead’s intention to retire was not influenced by ICE’s move to release some undocumented immigrant prisoners.

littlebytesnews's insight:

Of course the lying media covers for him...the ICE agent had planned to retire, but conveniently Obama could put the blame on him and try to make it look like he was forced to resign over releasing illegal inmates. What a fraud and unethical POTUS!!

Heated debate on Voting Rights Act as Justice Scalia calls landmark law a “racial entitlement,” liberals push back

Heated debate on Voting Rights Act as Justice Scalia calls landmark law a “racial entitlement,” liberals push back | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it
WASHINGTON –The fate of a landmark civil rights law that has ensured the right to vote for millions of people in Texas and other states is now in the hands of a deeply divided Supreme Court.
littlebytesnews's insight:
The provision they want to remove is NOT going to stop anyone from voting, it gives states and local election officials the right to change polling locations if necessary without going through Federal approval! What's the big deal...the provision they want to remove is an outdated provision that was needed at the time and meant as a temporary provision under President Johnson and was never amended from the Voting Rights Act. Learn more here: Congress ensured that states could not get around the new law by coming up with more changes to local voting rules. For those areas that had historically discriminated against people, the law required that they check with the feds before making changes to their voting practices. This part of the law is called Section 5. Section 5 was supposed to be temporary. It was supposed to transition the states into the new law and ensure that they were all implementing it correctly. As President Johnson said at the time, “if any county anywhere in this nation does not want federal intervention, it need only open its polling places to all of its people.” The problem is, that federal intervention continues to this day. And that is what the Supreme Court is considering today—the outdated Section 5, not the whole Voting Rights Act. The Voting Rights Act provides “broad and powerful protection against discrimination,”explains Heritage’s Hans von Spakovsky, a former Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. Regardless of the Supreme Court’s take on Section 5, the Voting Rights Act remains in effect to protect all Americans from voter discrimination. But Section 5 outlived its purpose decades ago—and the federal government is still forcing some voting jurisdictions to justify all of their local rule changes. Von Spakovskypoints out: [Section 5] effectively presumes that all voting-related actions by certain states and jurisdictions are discriminatory and therefore requires that they obtain pre-approval from the federal government for otherwise ordinary and routine actions, such as moving a polling station from a school that is under renovation to another one down the street or drawing new redistricting plans. This is a major and unusual imposition on state sovereignty. What was originally intended to safeguard individual liberty has become a way for the feds to attack state liberty. For the Department of Justice and many activists, Section 5 merely exists to bully local authorities. Von Spakovsky says that if Section 5 were struck down, “The only change would be to curb the abuses of federal bureaucrats and check the power and influence of the liberal activist groups that rely on Section 5 to enforce their agendas.” http://blog.heritage.org/2013/02/27/morning-bell-voting-rights-at-the-supreme-court-today/ LEARN MORE: VIDEO: Panel discussion, Shelby County, Alabama v. Jodi Arias trial: Analyst AZ Former Attorney General says case is 'over' after hearing murder suspect's testimony today | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it
The former Arizona Attorney General told ABC15 that the Jodi Arias case “is over” after watching her testimony on Thursday where prosecutors poked holes in her story.

“Before, she said she doesn’t remember the stabbing,” said Grant Woods, “Today, she admitted that, obviously, she’s the one who did it.”

Woods said when the trial started; he thought it was “questionable” if the jury would recommend a death sentence for Arias. Now, after hearing the suspected murderer on the stand, he’s changed his mind.

“I think she may have succeeded in talking herself into the death penalty,” he said.

littlebytesnews's insight:

I agree, I never thought she was innocent especially after telling three lies to cover up her story in the first place and then to kill anyone in self defense by shooting them several times, then stabbing them 27 times and slashing their throat from ear to ear...nearly beheading them...that is in no way self defense! That is overkill and the actions of an enraged, psychotic, jealous lover or someone downright evil.

In addition, I don't see Alexander as someone she portrayed as abusive. She enjoyed their sexual fantasies and obviously participated willingly. What she did to him was something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy unless I was raped and tortured by him for years and prostituted to others. What she did was pure evil and an act of rage.

I don't buy any of her story because she could have ran out of the house before choosing to kill him, slash his throat or stab him so many times. He was the victim who was helpless in this situation. He was nude, taking a shower and unexpectedly attacked by an evil witch he thought he could at least trust with his life by allowing her in his house while he took a shower following their day of sexcapades.

I hope this teaches other young men and women not to trust anyone or turn their back on anyone they don't know very well. Their relationship was only a five month relationship. Obviously they rushed into things, were in lust with one another and let their sexual fantasies overtake reason and common sense. He tried to end it but couldn't resist the temptation to continue a sexual relationship with her despite his Mormon upbringining. Nobody is a saint nor without sin and in this case his own temptations led to his own death. But, what she did to him was murder and she deserves nothing less than the death penalty. I can't imagine anyone on the jury letting her off with less, but if she gets life in prison without parole that is the minimum sentence she deserves.

She is a cold blooded, selfish and heartless murderer. I feel for Travis Alexander's family and hope they find peace and closure and the jury makes the right decision in this case.

The Navy's sequester blame game

The Navy's sequester blame game | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it

So why that carrier, why two days before it was due to deploy? The Navy could have kept other, less visible ships at home -- like the littoral combat ship Freedom, sailing now to much-threatened Singapore. It could have lowered readiness requirements for other parts of the fleet, or stood down a training cycle.

Rear Adm. John Kirby put it this way: "Could money have been found somewhere, anywhere, to pay for the Truman's deployment? Maybe. But without the ability to transfer money from other accounts, there aren't many places from which we could have taken it without a greater cost to readiness elsewhere."

That is nonsense. The Navy does have the flexibility Adm. Kirby says they lack -- the whole operations account is trade space under sequester. And what cost to readiness where? The Navy doesn't tell us what the cancellation of this deployment allows it to protect.

It seems likely that given overall operating tempo for carriers (one at sea, two in port), deploying two was going to stress the fleet, anyway. And the requirement for two carriers in the Gulf was, and should be, subject to review, sequester or not. So maybe the timing was just serendipitous.

littlebytesnews's insight:

According to this article and Admiral Kirby, the truth is they were going to go to one carrier anyway, but descided to do it during the sequester debates...for added attention and shock value. More Obama posturing and using our military for political maniplulation.

Zackary White's curator insight, April 8, 2013 11:54 AM

It is hard to say the reasoning for keeping the carrier in port. The petty officer who wrote this states that only one carrier was needed in the Gulf anyway and they are just blaming the sequester to get attention. I think the reasoning is a little bit of both, trying to safe money but also taking out things that are not well needed.

Scarborough Claims: Bush White House Threatened Me&Andrea Mitchell says Reagan WH threatened her

Scarborough Claims: Bush White House Threatened Me&Andrea Mitchell says Reagan WH threatened her | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it

On Morning Joe, commenting on the story of the Obama White House having threatened Bob Woodward over his reporting on the sequester, Joe Scarborough tells a story--without naming names--about having been threatened by the Bush White House, and Andrea Mitchell claims she was threatened during the Reagan years for her Iran Contra reporting.

littlebytesnews's insight:

However, it seems more common in the Obama White House then we have seen before:

According to reports on Breitbart and Hot Air, others claiming they too have been intimidated in the exact same way: Lanny Davis and CBS News's Sharyl Attkisson, just to name a couple. [Added: Ron Fournier.]

Psychological manipulation is a game of chess, not checkers, and those claiming Woodward is exaggerating need to take into account more than just these two moves.

Bob Woodward isn't always right, but to say he deserves respect and the benefit of the doubt over a White House with a track record of intimidation is an understatement.

Bill Clinton’s former special counsel told Larry O’Connor and Brian Wilson on WMAL that his columns at The Washington Times got the Obama administration so angry, they threatened Davis’ editor with removing the paper’s accreditation to cover the White House:

http://hotair.com/archives/2013/02/28/former-clinton-aide-obama-wh-threatened-my-paper-too/

Lanny Davis, formerly a special counsel to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL’s Brian Wilson and Larry O’Connor that a White House official once threatened to have The Washington Times’ White House credentials revoked over columns Davis had written.

Davis says his editor “received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn’t like some of my columns, even though I’m a supporter of Obama. I couldn’t imagine why this call was made.”

Davis isn’t buying the pushback on the Woodward story, either.  While he allows that the context may have been couched as friendly advice, a White House that uses the words “you will regret” is a White House threatening a reporter."

The White House has vehemently denied the claim in Woodward's book, though the claim has been in the public domain for several months since the publication of the book, The Price of Politics, in mid-2012. Democrats and a slew of sympathetic liberal journalists have joined the White House in attacking Woodward--a remarkable turn of events given his elite status in the media as part of the duo that brought down President Richard Nixon in 1973.

UPDATE--From WMAL:

Davis told WMAL that his editor, John Solomon, "received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn't like some of my columns, even though I'm a supporter of Obama. I couldn't imagine why this call was made."  Davis says the Obama aide told Solomon, "that if he continued to run my columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials."

You could have listened to Michael Barone. He saw it coming even before Barack Obama was elected. In October 2008, he penned “The Coming Obama Thugocracy.”

I experienced it when DOJ press harpy Tracy Schmaler yelled at a half dozen reporters, as the White House official did to you, about my under-oath testimony involving the New Black Panther dismissal.  Her victims included Pete Williams,Quin Hillyer, and Sharyl Attkisson. After Schmaler’s thug tendencies were well known, she was nurtured and promoted within the Thugocracy instead of being canned, as any administration before this one would have done to her — Republican or Democrat.

Schmaler has since been appointed a Made Man of sorts, entering the rarefied private sector air of David Axelrod’s shop.

Schmaler’s story is typical of this gang. Her shouting, threats, and rants at reporters would have rendered her unqualified to serve in the press shop of a state department of agriculture.

But this is serious stuff. When the elder statesman of the industry that guards the First Amendment is threatened by the White House, it marks a dangerous turn. When other“reporters”  join in, it is even more dangerous.

Immigration detainee release under fire--Illegal Immigrant Thought It Was A Joke...Sadly, Our Laws Are Now A Joke | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it
Hundreds of undocumented immigrants are released from detention because of looming budget cuts. They remain under order of supervision.
littlebytesnews's insight:

Thanks to this administration the rule of law is becoming a joke. They are no longer enforcing immigration laws, now they are releasing illegal alien criminals...who they claim are non-violent. Yet why the special privilege to illegal immigrants and not citizen inmates that are considered non-violent?

Obama's administration did this for political reasons, despite claiming Obama knew nothing about it, but also to give these illegals a chance at citizenship once any amnesty law is passed. Giving illegals a path to citizenship is just another way for the DEM party to manipulate the system and attract more voters for upcoming elections.

I'm sure DHS will ignore their criminal records once amnesty passes. The weak RINO GOP better not give into any amnesty bill, especially after this blatant disrespect for our country's laws, security and sovereignty.
