Massachusetts State Police shared images Saturday showing how they used infrared technology to locate Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev hiding in a Watertown, Mass., resident's boat.

Other images released show a police vehicle using a boom to investigate the boat.

Tsarnaev is in serious but stable condition and is not yet able to communicate with authorities, according to Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick.

Irony when reality meets fantasy....liberals think we need to let more immigrants in, yet they don't know what their intentions are, regardless how long they have lived in the US. It's time to stop pandering to Islamists and stop immigration from Islamists countries!! Chechynya is a breeding ground for Islamic terrorists with ties to global terror groups, including Al Qaeda.

The father is making threats to the US and telling the surviving son to turn himself in but if he's killed all hell will break out...it's time to stop letting these Islamists into our country!! They do not have a loyalt to our way of life and culture and do not respect our Constitution and laws!

Also, those who come here illegally do not respect our laws, how can we trust them to be productive citizens?

Reward after historic cemetery's graves desecrated | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it
ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities say graves at one of Georgia's oldest cemeteries have been desecrated and they are trying to find whoever removed a child's casket and dumped a soldier's uniform on the ground.A reward of more than $2,000 is being offered...

A reward of more than $2,000 is being offered for clues about the desecration of graves at the Old Church Cemetery, which dates to 1758 and is located in the east Georgia countryside near Waynesboro.

Leroy Bell Jr., commander of the American Legion post that cares for the cemetery, discovered the damage Saturday. He said a small iron casket containing the remains of a 14-month-old girl buried there in 1884 was removed and its contents strewn about.

"They took it completely out and dumped everything out," Bell told The Associated Press. "I just can't understand it, other than the fact they were wanting some kind of trinkets."

It was not immediately clear how many graves were desecrated. But authorities said buttons were taken from military clothing. One of the items left on the ground appeared to be a soldier's uniform coat.

Burke County sheriff's Sgt. Sean Cochran said the bones of at least one soldier were left exposed.

He said relic hunting was a possible motive though authorities were not immediately certain what prompted the grave desecration.

In the opening line, Soros, 82, is referred to as "predatory."  He's also called "an enigma, wrapped in intellect, contradiction and money" in the piece.

Other critiques include the fact that he failed to buy the Washington Nationals at one point.

CBS News: “Multiple New” Benghazi Whistleblowers Speaking With Congressional Investigators… | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it

CBS News has learned that multiple new whistleblowers are privately speaking to investigators with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee regarding the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attacks on the U.S. compounds in Benghazi, Libya.

The nature of the communications with the whistleblowers and their identities are not being made public at this time. But in response, the Oversight Committee yesterday sent letters to the three federal agencies involved: the CIA, the Defense Department and the State Department.

The letters make the case for the whistleblowers to be able to share sensitive or classified information with their own attorneys, and ask for each agency’s official description of the legal steps that process must follow. The letters also state that additional witnesses may be “compelled by subpoena to give testimony.”

Four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in the Benghazi attacks seven months ago. No arrests have been made.

Several injured in Texas plant explosion. 9NEWS at 9 p.m. 04/17/13.

WACO, Texas (AP) -- An explosion Wednesday night at a fertilizer plant near Waco sent flames shooting high into the night sky, leaving the factory a smoldering ruin, causing major damage to nearby buildings and injuring numerous people.

The blast at the plant in West, a community north of Waco, happened shortly before 8 p.m. and could be heard as far away as Waxahachie, 45 miles north of West.

Debby Marak told The Associated Press that when she finished teaching her religion class Wednesday night, she noticed a lot of smoke coming from the area across town near the plant, which is near a nursing home. She said she drove over to see what was happening, and that when she got out of her car two boys ran toward her screaming that the authorities told them to leave because the plant was going to explode. She said she drove about a block before the blast happened.

"It was like being in a tornado," the 58-year-old said by phone. "Stuff was flying everywhere. It blew out my windshield."

"It was like the whole earth shook."

She drove 10 blocks and called her husband and asked him to come get her. When they got to their home about 2 miles south of town, her husband told her what he'd seen: a huge fireball that rose like "a mushroom cloud."

More than two hours after the blast, there were still fires smoldering in what was left of the plant and others burning in nearby buildings. In aerial footage from Dallas' NBC affiliate, WDFW, dozens of emergency vehicles could be seen amassed at the scene. Entry into West was slow-going, as the roads were jammed with emergency vehicles rushing in to help out.

Authorities set up a staging area on the local high school's football field, which was lit up with floodlights. Ambulances and several dozen injured people could be seen being taken away or seated in wheelchairs as they are treated and await transport.

Department of Public Safety troopers were using their squad cars to transport those injured by the blast and fire at the plant in West, a community north of Waco, Gayle Scarbrough, a spokeswoman for the department's Waco office, told television station KWTX. She said six helicopters were also en route to help out.

........

Lydia Zimmerman, told KWTX that she, her husband and daughter were in their garden in Bynum, 13 miles from West, when they heard multiple blasts.

"It sounded like three bombs going off very close to us," she said.

In 2001, an explosion at a chemical plant killed 31 people and injured more than 2,000 in Toulouse, France. The blast occurred in a hangar containing 300 tons of ammonium nitrate, which can be used for both fertilizer and explosives. The explosion came 10 days after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the U.S., and raised fears at the time it was linked. A 2006 report blamed the blast on negligence.

I can't believe that a fertilizer plant actually exploaded and that stuff can be very poisones too. Also when the initial fire broke out alot of firefighters and volunteer ones from other towns came to help but only a half an hour later an explosion with a 5 block radius happened and many were killed or injured.

I agree, this has been a really unfortunate week for our country. When the explosions happened, many wondered if they were related to the bombings... Fortunately they were not, but in some ways, I wonder if this tragedy wasn't slightly overlooked in light of the bombings. I think its time now to keep those in mind who lost lives or were hurt by either tragedy... and stay safe for a long while.

CNN: John King says reputable law enforcement told him suspect was “dark skinned male.” Adds “some people will take offense at that.”

— Andrew Kaczynski (@BuzzFeedAndrew) April 17, 2013

I guess when Obama found out they arrested a Muslim, that had to be Kiboshed until they could kill some white guy and then say he did it. Just kidding. It actually sounds like an arrest was in fact made, but they don’t want people to know yet because they don’t want others involved to panic and flee, as well as for other reasons that such public knowledge might impede the investigation and prosecution.

Background – UPDATE: BOSTON P.D., U.S. ATTORNEY CONTRADICT CNN, FOX NEWS AND AP, SAY NO ARREST MADE – Breaking, Multiple Sources: ‘Darked Skinned’ Suspect Arrested In Boston Marathon Bombings

BOSTON (AP) — Federal officials are denying that a suspect is in custody in the Boston Marathon bombings.

A law enforcement official briefed on the investigation told The Associated Press on Wednesday a suspect was in custody.

But the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office in Boston dispute that.

The official who spoke to The Associated Press did so on condition of anonymity and stood by the information even after it was disputed.

The official was not authorized to divulge details of the investigation. The official had said the suspect was expected in federal court in Boston.

Reporters and police have converged at the courthouse.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below.

A suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings was taken into custody Wednesday in a breakthrough that came less than 48 hours after the deadly attack, a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation said Wednesday.

The official spoke shortly after several media outlets reported that a suspect had been identified from surveillance video taken at a Lord & Taylor store between the sites of the two bomb blasts, which killed three people and wounded more than 170.

The official was not authorized to divulge details of the investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. The suspect was expected at a Boston courthouse under heavy security, the official said.

A news briefing was scheduled later Wednesday.

Law enforcement agencies had earlier pleaded for the public to come forward with photos, videos or any information that might help them solve the twin bombings. Police also gathered surveillance video from businesses around the finish line.

The bombs were made from ordinary kitchen pressure cookers packed with explosives, nails and ball bearings to inflict maximum carnage, investigators and others close to the case said. But the FBI said nobody had claimed responsibility.

Legislation Preventing Employers From Asking for Facebook Passwords Defeated

Legislation Preventing Employers From Asking for Facebook Passwords Defeated | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it
An amendment that would have prevented employers from asking for Facebook passwords was defeated Thursday.

A last-minute proposed amendment to the Cyber Information Sharing and Protection Act that would have made it illegal for employers or the federal government to ask for employees' or prospective employees' Facebook passwords was defeated in the House of Representatives 224-188 along party lines, with Republicans knocking it down.

Rep. Ed Perlmutter D-Colo. said he offered the amendment due to an emerging trend of companies asking for prospective employees' social media passwords before offering them a job. He said his amendment is similar to legislation that prevents employers from requiring polygraph tests as a condition of employment.

"Let me boil [it] down: these are two direct and simple paragraphs that say as a condition of employment, you can't be made to give up a password to your Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn accounts," Perlmutter said. "This thing has exploded. People are being asked for their private passwords to various social media networks."

Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., sponsor of the CISPA bill, said Perlmutter's amendment was nothing more than an attempt to kill the law, a claim Perlmutter denied.

"This has nothing to do with our bill," Rogers said, suggesting the issue should be tackled with separate legislation.

littlebytesnews's insight:

What's in CISPA that led GOP to support it??Like many of you I've been busy following the deadly week to keep up much with CISPA voting this week, it passed in the House, but still needs to pass in the Senate. What are the dirty details that caused Republicans to vote for it and DEMs to vote against it, especially if Republicans are usually on the side of maintaining privacy and individual rights??

I guess I don't exactly see the value or need to prevent employers from checking up on your personal life.  I mean yes, you are going to be representing their company and they would like to know you are a respected individual; however, I am a strong believer that there is a strong difference between one's personal and professional life.  It makes sense to me that the republicans primarily struck down the legislation; because, in the long run, they are the the business owners in the first place.  I guess I'm not for or against the action because really, I have nothing to hide.  Thats how it should be: if you don't want people to see something, keep it off facebook.

Well, well, well. Looky here. Yet another heated topic about gun control. While I understand that many people don't want any of their gun rights taken away or violated, think about if the situation was the complete opposite. Imagine if all of these shootings still happened but the president just waved them off as a fluke. He didn't even lift a finger to try and stop it. No changes. Just a slap on the wrist and "Off you go, Shooter!" with a smile and a football-esque butt slap. No! If anything, we should be happy that our president, although maybe to the extreme, is trying to bring about change after tragedies.

You can pass a million new laws but criminals will always break them! @Andrew Lawrence and Noah Duncan and in the US we have a right to bear arms that shall not be infringed....and what they are trying to do is control and regulate what law abiding gun owners do. None of their new laws and legislation would have prevented the Newtown shooting nor any other shooting because criminals don't get background checks, etc...they steal their guns or buy them on the black market. More laws won't stop criminals it just makes it harder for law abiding citizens to obtain the protection they need to defend themselves.

What Obama is doing is exploiting families who have suffered in tragedy and trying to push his agenda on gun control by appealing to people's emotions rather than common sense!

Sad @MarcoRubio is starting to sound more&more like Obama:bombings shouldn’t be used to ‘make political points’ | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it

WASHINGTON - Could the fact that the two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings legally immigrated to America affect the immigration overhaul legislation being debated in Congress?

A spokesman for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio – one of the chief proponents of the Gang of 8’s immigration proposal – cautioned against connecting the two.

“The situation in Boston is still developing and it’s too soon to jump to conclusions, let alone use the tragedy to make political points,” Rubio spokesman Alex Conant said in an email when reached Friday by The Daily Caller.

littlebytesnews's insight:

This isn't about making political points....this is about national security and protecting our borders, by securing them and not passing amnesty! Stop handing out visas to everyone who wants to get in, we need tougher screening laws and requirements and we need to stop immigration from Muslim countries that hate us, are known terorrist hubs and stop all Muslim immigration until we irradicate Islam! I'm no tan Islamophobe, but these people do not respect our laws, culture, way of life and want to KILL us!

We don't need immirgration reform, we need laws enforced and border security enforcement!!

Lucky Boston Marathon runner witnesses double disasters...First in Boston, then in TX

Lucky Boston Marathon runner witnesses double disasters...First in Boston, then in TX | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it
People keep asking Joe Berti if he feels unlucky.A bomb exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon seconds after Berti finished the race.

In this Wednesday, April 17, 2013, photo provided by Joe Berti, a plume of smoke rises from a fertilizer plant fire near Waco, Texas. A massive explosion at the West Fertilizer Co. killed as many as 15 people and injured more than 160, officials said Thursday morning. (AP Photo/Joe Berti)

People keep asking Joe Berti if he feels unlucky.

A bomb exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon seconds after Berti finished the race. Two days later, he was in his home state of Texas when he saw a fertilizer plant explode near Waco.

"I was just like, 'I can't believe this!'" said Berti, who said he had never witnessed an explosion before. Then he thought: "I just want to get out of here and get away from all these explosions."

But Berti, as it turns out, is far from unlucky. Instead, he feels fortunate. He left both tragedies unscathed, while members of his running group and his wife — who was closer to the Boston explosion than he was — were also unhurt.

"It's a miracle," he said in an interview with The Associated Press on Thursday. "People keep saying, 'Don't you feel unlucky?' and I was actually the opposite — saying not only do I not feel unlucky, but I feel blessed that my wife could be 10 yards from the explosion and not have a scratch."

The bombings in Boston, which happened about 10 seconds apart at the finish line of Monday's marathon, killed three people and left more than 180 wounded. In West, Texas, which is near Waco, a fertilizer plant exploded on Wednesday, killing at least five people, injuring more than 160, and leveling homes, apartments and a school.

"We're grateful that God has been merciful to us," said Berti's wife, Amy. "We are just praying for the people who were so much less fortunate than we were."

Berti's road to the Boston marathon started just a couple months ago, when he decided to run with Champions4Children, a charity that helps kids with rare or undiagnosed disorders and their families. He was one of eight Austin-area runners who ran the marathon with that group. Each ran for a sick child or "training partner," who tracked his or her runner's marathon progress from home.

During the last four miles, the 43-year-old Berti, who wore bib number 25472, felt his body shutting down, and his pace slowed. But he was running for his partner Drew, and he vowed to finish.

"I had just run to the finish line and like 30 seconds later I heard the first explosion, and then turned around and saw the smoke," he said. "I knew immediately that it was a bomb ... Then the second explosion occurred and I saw a wave of people running."

littlebytesnews's insight:

You'd think people woudl call him lucky rather than 'unlucky' considering he survived two bomb blasts unharmed. But they rather consider him some sort of omen or something...how silly.

Anyway, I'd say he's definitely lucky and has to be thankful to have survived two horrific explosions this past week. This was a bad week for America, but we will recover and rebuild and lives will be remembered, but we will go on and become stronger, more aware and more determined to fight against terrorism, but also become more grateful for the life we have been given because you never know when a disaster or act of terrorism could affect you or your family and friends.

Thankfully we didn't know anyone affected this week, but could have and that's what's scary and makes you realize none of us are immortal. We must live our lives fully, but also ready to meet our maker as we never know when our day will come.

Pray for Boston, Pray for Texas, Pray for America!

Video:The Take Down of America

Video produced by http://www.westernjournalism.com
littlebytesnews's insight:

Obama admin put a stop to Gitmo trials....he is responsible for the delayed justice against terrorists and holding them indefinitely in Gitmo, while blaming the GOP.

Apparently this hasn't been released to the public because the complicit media wasn't given their talking points.

This video discusses that along with the new UT data mining center where they can store our emails, phone calls, tweets, credit card records, bank records and more to verify if we as American citizens are terror suspects...all without a warrant!

A Gitmo terrorist recently revealed he's never been charged or received a trial and claims to have been tortured but has not been proven to be a terrorist. Whether he is a terrorist or not, in this country we are supposed to have adequate evidence to arrest and detain someone and provide a trial. Of course if he is a foreign combatant and was captured on foreign land than he is not entitled to some of the same Constitutional rights as Americans. However, under the new NDAA the federal government is now authorized to indefinitely detain someone who is considered a terrorist threat or suspect, all without a trial or warrant.

Wow Dead?...Breaking>>>Reuters:George Soros, enigmatic financier, liberal philanthropist dies at XX | Littlebytesnews Current Events | Scoop.it
WASHINGTON, XXX (Reuters) - George Soros, who died XXX atage XXX, was a predatory and hugely successful financier andinvestor, who argued paradoxically for years against the samesort of free-wheeling

George Soros, who died XXX at age XXX, was a predatory and hugely successful financier and investor, who argued paradoxically for years against the same sort of free-wheeling capitalism that made him billions.

He was known as "the man who broke the Bank of England" for selling short the British pound in 1992 and helping force the United Kingdom to withdraw from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism, which devalued the pound and earned Soros more than $1 billion.

And his Soros Fund Management was widely blamed for helping trigger the Asian financial crisis of 1997, by selling short the Thai baht and Malaysian ringgit.

"Subsequently, Prime Minister Mahatir of Malaysia accused me of causing the crisis, a wholly unfounded accusation," Soros wrote in The Crisis of Global Capitalism: Open Society Endangered," in 1998.

"We were not sellers of the currency during or several months before the crisis; on the contrary ... we were purchasing ringgits to realize profits on our earlier speculation."

Still, economist Paul Krugman, was one of many observers who accused Soros of helping trigger the crisis.

In 1999, Krugman wrote that "nobody who has read a businessmagazine in the last few years can be unaware that these days there really are investors who not only move money in anticipation of a currency crisis, but actually do their best to trigger that crisis for fund and profit."

Still, Soros has written extensively on the folly of what he has called free market "fundamentalism," the belief of many conservative economists that markets will correct themselves with no need for government intervention.

In Soros' view, markets and investors are subject to "mood" swings, or a prevailing positive or negative bias which can be exploited by savvy investors but which inevitably lead to damaging market bubbles and boom/bust cycles.

An enigma, wrapped in intellect, contradiction and money.

A Jew born in Hungary as the Nazis were gaining power in Germany, Soros survived World War Two and then emigrated to Great Britain, where he earned a degree from the London School of Economics in 1952, and landed his first job in the financial industry largely through pure stubborn chutzpah.

OPEN SOCIETY INSTITUTE

While at the London School, Soros studied under the economist and philosopher Karl Popper and a main vehicle for his philanthropy, the Open Society Institute, is named for Popper's two-volume work, "The Open Society and Its Enemies."

In that work, Popper develops the philosophy of reflexivity, a theory first articulated by William Thomas in the 1920s that posits that individual biases enter into market transactions, coloring the perception of economic fundamentals. Soros has attributed his own financial success in part to his understanding of the reflexive effect.

Key to understanding that effect is recognizing when markets are in a condition of near-equilibrium, or in disequilibrium. Soros has observed that when markets are rising or falling rapidly, they are typically marked by rising disequilibrium, and the dispassionate investor can capitalize on that recognition.

While Soros has benefited enormously from this understanding (Forbes put his wealth in 2013 at $19 billion, making him the world's 30th richest person, not counting the roughly $8 billion he has given away through various charitable entities he controls), he has argued nevertheless for strong central government regulation to correct for and counterbalance the excesses of greed, fear and the free market.

Popper's idea of fallibilism, which posits that anything one believes may in fact be wrong, is another key principle that has guided Soros in his career, and his philanthropy.

Soros' philanthropy since the 1970s, when he began funding the studies of black students at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, has been marked as much by his personal journey as by the needs of the communities he has set out to serve.

His efforts through the Open Society Institute and the Soros Foundations have been skewed toward the effort to promote democratic values in the post-Soviet economies of Central and Eastern Europe, where he witnessed the rise of communism in Hungary after World War Two.

"The bulk of his enormous winnings (as an investor and speculator) is now devoted to encouraging transitional and emerging nations to become 'open societies,'" former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker wrote in the foreword to Soros' "The Alchemy of Finance" (2003).

"Open," Volcker wrote, "not only in the sense of freedom of commerce but - more important - tolerant of new ideas and different modes of thinking and behavior."

PHILANTHROPY, POLITICS

Soros also pledged $50 million in 2006 to the Millennium Promise, led by economist Jeffrey Sachs, to provide educational, agricultural and medical aid to help poor villages in Africa. And the Open Society Institute has expanded its giving to more than 60 countries around the world, giving away roughly $600 million a year.

Soros was an early supporter of the peaceful transformation of the Solidarity movement in Poland and Open Society Institute programs were considered by many Western observers to be a key factor in the success of the "Rose Revolution" in Georgia.

While his philanthropy has earned him friends around the world, his political giving has earned him both friends and enemies. Former President George W. Bush, who Soros blamed for turning the United States into "the main obstacle to a stable and just world order," was perhaps the biggest single target of his political wrath.

"By declaring a 'war on terror' after Sept. 11, we set the wrong agenda for the world," Soros told Newsweek magazine in a 2006 interview. "When you wage war, you inevitably create innocent victims."

In a bid to stop Bush's re-election, Soros donated $23.5 million to more than 500 liberal and progressive groups during the 2003-2004 U.S. election cycle.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Fertilizer Plant Explosion Near Waco, Texas...wow, little girl screams she 'can't hear' after explodes following flames

Published on Apr 17, 2013

Explosions rocked a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, Wednesday evening as firefighters were battling a fire, causing multiple injuries, authorities said.

Dani Moore, dispatcher with the Texas Department of Pubic Safety, said she did not know how many were injured or the extent of their injuries.

"The fertilizer plant was on fire. Firefighters were on the scene. There was an explosion ... followed by a second explosion,'' she said.

She said there were multiple damages to structures and vehicles. She said she had no information on the cause of the blasts or fire.

WFAA.com reported at least 10 structures were on fire, including a school which is next door to the plant. An emergency triage center was set up at a high school football field.

The TV station said on its website that a shock wave was felt in parts of North Texas.

The Waco Tribune reported injuries to several people including firefighters.

The fertilizer plant is about 20 miles north of Waco and just off Interstate 35.

KWTX.com reported one of the nearby buildings damaged was a nursing home, and state troopers transported some of the injured to hospitals in patrol cars.

It also said the explosion knocked out electrical power to part of the community.

Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco, was receiving some of the injured. Answering the phone at the hospital, Karen Jackson said she could provide no information on the number of injured or the extent.
