A suspected marijuana trafficker went up in smoke on his front lawn — in a heated Miami shootout with detectives that was captured in clear, graphic surveillance video.
Shown in court Thursday, the video clearly shows Gerardo Delgado emerge from a parked BMW in his driveway shooting a pistol, startling the narcotics detectives who were trying to apprehend Delgado's alleged accomplice, Luis Estevanell.
They return fire.
Detective John Saavedra takes three bullets to the gut and collapses off-screen.
MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENTGerardo Delgado was gunned down as he hid behind a tree.
"John's hit! John's hit!" his colleagues shout.
Though wounded, Delgado manages to fire more rounds at the officers while taking cover behind and propping himself up against a tree. A hail of gunfire whizzes past the trunk until, finally, a bullet soars through the branches and hits him in the head.
As Delgado flails to the ground, the trigger slips from his finger, tossing the handgun up into a tiny arch before it lands beside his body, squirming against the hard, stone walkway.
A few last attempts at movement: Delgado is dead.
After the fatal firefight near Coral Way and Southwest 60th Court, police searched the growhouse and found 80 pounds of marijuana, along with an expensive and comprehensive video system, which gave authorities something they do not usually have: clear footage from the incident.
Authorities say that Estevanell was a key player in the drug trafficking operation. He faces possession of cocaine, trafficking in marijuana and second-degree felony murder charges, reported The Miami Herald.
OTTAWA, Kan. — A 27-year-old convicted felon has been charged with capital murder, first-degree murder and other charges in the deaths of a woman and two men whose bodies were found at an eastern Kansas farm home, according to a criminal complaint released Friday.
Meanwhile, investigators continued their search for the woman's 18-month-daughter, who also is presumed dead. It was not immediately clear whether Kyle Flack also is being charged in connection to the missing toddler.

The complaint released Friday says Flack is charged with multiple counts of capital murder and first-degree murder. He also faces charges of rape and criminal possession of a firearm.
How sad, pray they find the little girl unharmed, but it doesn't sound good at this point, especially with her mom found dead with two other men. Where would the guy have disposed of the little girl?? He had to have killed her and now that they have him in custody I would think they would be able to get that information out of him??
I'm sure our troops are thankful they don't have to see her plastic face and phoney smile. Good to see some good coming out of the sequestration...keeping Nancy off a plane is a good idea she wasted billions of dollars when she flew around on them as House Speaker and brought her family with her, letting them drink alcohol and live it up on our military fleet.
BBC Editor Mark Mardell on Friday admitted that he had all but dismissed allegations of a Benghazi cover-up before ABC's bombshell report on the Benghazi talking points, which were deliberately edited to remove references to terror.
While DEMS like Spokesmouth Jay Carney, talking head Juan Williams,Leslie Marshall, Geraldo Rivera and others continue to make excuses and say it is not a criminal act.
Of course it's a criminal act, they committed perjury to cover up the truth in order to help get Obama re-elected, and they let Americans die that night rather than send help and denied additional security prior to the attack, while they continued to coverup the truth and blaming the attack on a video nobody had even seen!
Is this worse than Benghazi?? My blood is boiling!! The SEAL Team 6 families had their press conference today, and it is infuriating almost sounds worse than Benghazi. Video:WTH??Obama admin allowed Muslim Cleric to Curse SEAL Team 6 Heroes at Their Funeral http://sco.lt/8FhUcz //SEAL Team 6 team sent home cremated draped w/Afghan Islamic flag, not USA flag over their caskets!?Obama's ROE-troops must be fired on twice to engage; 14,000 troops maimed under Obama, vs 2,000 under GWB in three years... 1250 pages of SEAL Team 6 investigation, nobody from Afghan military had any input in the investigation of the Chinook crash;why were 7 Afghan's replaced from flight w/SEALs?

2 Police in Stable Condition After South Mpls Shooting
Two police officers remained in stable condition after being shot in south Minneapolis.
"This is a very tough day for MPD," said Minneapolis Police Chief Janeé Harteau. "The situation was a tragic one, and I want to make sure that we keep them and their families in our thoughts and prayers."
Both officers were men, according to police. No additional information was immediately available about the officers.
Mayor R.T. Rybak and Harteau held a news conference Friday regarding the incident. Harteau confirmed that the suspect in the shooting is dead. The suspect was a male.
The suspect was shot by police. No additional information was immediately available about the suspect. No other suspects are being sought in the case, police said.
The shooting happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday at 2717 Bryant Ave. S. The area has residential homes, and is two blocks west of Lyndale Avenue.
The incident started as a suspect in a car fled officers, police reported. A foot chase ensued, and the suspect broke into a house. Officers were clearing the home when shots were fired.
The two police officers were shot in the leg, Harteau said. They are being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center. Both officers are in stable condition, according to police.
Off-duty officers were called to the scene, according to a source.
Jim Bickal, a producer from Minnesota Public Radio, lives at the home that the suspect broke into during the chase, according to an MPR story. Bickal, who wasn't at home at the time, said he saw an officer on the front yard receiving medical treatment for what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the leg.
Bickal said he noticed his backdoor window smashed when he parked his car behind the house and walked up the home's back porch. He told police about the smashed window, and officers then entered the home.
Streets in the neighborhood, including 27th Street toward Hennepin Avenue, were closed to traffic after the incident, said Julia Moroles, who works at a business nearby. Morales said she saw about eight squads in the area, as well as fire trucks.
Thankfully th eofficers will survive. Sad the motorcyclist was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wonder if his family will have a case of wrongful death??

Baroness Shirley Williams has defended Liberal Democrat peer Lord Rennard, who is currently being investigated for allegations of sexual harassment, saying that anyone accused of groping should just 'apologise and stop misbehaving'.
I don't think they were just groping....but either way it's inappropirate and an apology is not enough if it contnued after numerous requests for it to stop.
Charging a violation of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Obama's State Department sent a threatening letter to the students who set-up the radical pro-Second Amendment website Defense Distributed.
The IRS denies having conducted a partisan witch-hunt against tea-party groups in the run-up to the 2012 election, arguing that its improper targeting of conservative groups was the result of a series of procedural errors rather than a political attack with malice aforethought.
But the IRS is keeping the relevant evidence secret, so you will just have to take the agency’s word for it.
Lois Lerner, the IRS official in charge of handling tax-exempt organizations, made what appeared to be an impromptu confession Friday during a tax conference hosted by the American Bar Association, saying that groups with the words “tea party” or “patriot” in their names were improperly targeted for additional levels of tax-status review by the agency. Those actions, she said, were “wrong” and “inappropriate,” but she denied that they were the result of political bias against tea-party groups. When asked how the IRS determined that the actions were not the result of political bias, Ms. Lerner could only say, “That is not how we do things.”
The problem originated in a Cincinnati IRS office — Ms. Lerner would not say which one — that handles applications from 501(c)(4) organizations, groups that under law may engage in political advocacy so long as electioneering accounts for less than half of their spending. The same branch of the IRS, dealing with such applications, also came under criticism last year when confidential tax documents filed by American Crossroads, the nonprofit organization associated with Karl Rove, were illegally leaked to the media and published by ProPublica, the nonprofit project funded in part by George Soros’s Open Society Foundations. No one has been charged in that crime.
Ms. Lerner’s version of the story is that three things happened independently of one another:
First, “line people” — that’s IRS-speak for grunts — decided, on their own and with no direction from above, to create a special category of organizations applying for tax-exempt status: “Tea Party and Patriot” organizations. Ms. Lerner says that other organizations may have been specifically named, but when challenged could not think of one, and then added: “I only said that because I don’t like to say ‘absolutely not.’ But I don’t know.”
Second, that batch of applicants was delayed for an unusual period of time. Ms. Lerner said that this was the result of an unusually large number of applications coming in, but applications for tax-exempt status have been growing quickly since 2008 — making 2012’s bumper crop something less than an unforeseeable circumstance.
Third, and perhaps most troubling, those tea-party organizations were sent letters of inquiry demanding information that would seldom if ever be demanded of any other applicant in the process. The IRS demanded lists of donors, names of spouses and family members, detailed information about political views and associations — all of that “under penalties of perjury.” Many applicants dropped out of the process. The questions were remarkably invasive: For example, the IRS demanded to know not only whether political candidates participated in public forums conducted by the groups, but which issues were discussed, along with copies of any literature distributed at the forum and material published on websites. (The IRS has been less forthcoming with its own materials related to this investigation.) If the organizations collected dues, the IRS demanded to know how much they were. It demanded everything down to the résumés of employees. The inquiry was not limited to members of the organization, its executives, or its directors, but included even their family members: The IRS demanded to know — again, under penalty of perjury — whether any of their family members might be thinking about running for office. Its demand for the names of all donors — and all recipients of grants — is in violation of IRS policy.
Another day, another Obama scandal. I'm surprised they actually came out and admitted targetting teaparty groups...what consequences if any will come of this now?? Or is this being brought up now to direct attention from Benghazi??
Here's a case where having a gun for protection would have been handy....sad what the mother went through, but it's too bad the son or father didn't have a gun on them so they weren't overpowered by these machete thugs.
Is every liberal an immoral, nasty tempered, habitual liar who accuses people of racism for fun and trashes his own country because he thinks it makes him look sophisticated? Of course, not!
On the other hand, is that a fairly accurate description of most liberals in politics? Yes, it is. Most of them aren't evil per se, but as Margaret Thatcher said,
"Left-wing zealots have often been prepared to ride roughshod over due process and basic considerations of fairness when they think they can get away with it. For them the ends always seems to justify the means. That is precisely how their predecessors came to create the gulag."
Liberals view themselves as good people because they're liberals. People who are outside of that ugly little bit of circular reasoning don't have such a benign view of their horrible behavior. So, what reason could you have to dislike liberals?
1) Only liberals would be cruel enough to pick on kids running lemonade stands with a permit, children putting on Christmas plays at school and the Boy Scouts.
2) Because the closest thing to Sodom and Gomorrah in the modern world is San Francisco and Berkeley.
3) Whether you're talking about cop killers, terrorists, radical Islamists or dictators, all you have to do is say, "I hate America," and liberals start to sympathize with you.
4) Liberals are actually bothered by people who do love America. On the rare occasion when you do see a liberal waving a flag, look for a camera.
5) The same people who voted Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama into office think they're smarter than tradition, the Founding Fathers and God Himself.
6) Liberals might not want to admit it, but the world would have been a better place if Mary Jo Kopechne had crawled up out of that car instead of Ted Kennedy.
7) Only an ass could like Bill Maher, Alan Grayson or Sheila Jackson Lee.
8) Liberals believe in taking money from people who earn it, handing it out as bribes in order to get more power and then using that power to hurt the people that are giving them money.
9) The same liberal who'll laugh at a rape joke about Sarah Palin and then attack Michele Bachmann's family will then turn around and accuse someone else of being sexist for respectfully noting that a woman is attractive.
10) Liberals view hooking people on welfare and food stamps as a core part of their election strategy, which is terrible for the country, shows they have no character and requires more than a little hatred for poor people.
It sure appears that way when you talk to most liberals. I'm surprised he only came up with 25 reasons to dislike liberals...I'm sure there are many more. What are some of yours??
Project Censored specializes in covering the top stories which were subjected to media censorship either by being ignored or downplayed by the mainstream media each year. Project Censored is a research team composed of more than 200 university faculty, students, and community experts who annually review between 700 and 1,000 news story submissions for coverage, content, reliability of sources, and national significance.
This should be obvious in the lack of media coverage on the House of Horrors abortion doctor Gosnell, the Benghazi investigation which is just now finally starting to be heard and numerous other stories...the US media is no longer a free press, but an arm of the Democratic party and agenda driven

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un is playing a dangerous nuclear game, says a US envoy.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un is playing a dangerous game in his nuclear showdown with the international community, the US envoy seeking to tempt the isolated state back into talks said on Thursday.
Glyn Davies said ahead of a tour of South Korea, China and Japan that it was becoming clear that the young Kim is the master dictating policy, including sanctions-busting nuclear bomb and long-range missile tests.
"We are beginning to see what this young man, Kim Jong-Un, is all about and we are beginning to see that he is a bit of a throwback," Davies said at the Japan Society in New York.
"He may even be approaching these issues more intensively, more provocatively, in a sense a bit more dangerously."
Kim took over from his father Kim Jong-Il last year promising "better times". But Davies said the new leader "has rooted his vision for his country firmly in the past."
"A small privileged elite continues to lavish resources on long-range missiles and nuclear projects as well as luxuries for their own gratification at the expense of his long-suffering subjects," he added.
When Kim took over, there had been speculation of collective leadership, with the military or others behind the scenes making the calls.
But the US envoy said that debate has "largely evaporated."
"It is increasingly clear that the logic of the North Korean system is at work and according to the logic of that system, there must be one paramount leader who heads the party, the state, the army," said Davies.
"All roads, all decision-making goes to the leader and all decisions come from that mountain-top down."
People living nearby are put on alert, as a woman dies shortly after being attacked while out running in a remote desert area.
Sad...those dogs scare me...you just don't know how they've been raised and if they've been abused they can not be trusted around children or unleashed. My sister has one that was a rescue dog and he ended up killing my sisters other dog, a german shephard. I don't like to go to her house now since that incident.
The saddest thing....I just don't trust them unless they have been raised from a puppy and you know their temperment around kids and strangers.
