A hulking blade-wielding maniac slashed a 36-year-old woman’s throat during a bloody attack in Queens on Tuesday morning, police and family members said.
Now family members are praying Kerline Denizard — a home health care aide who works with disabled children — survives the horrific assault.
“She's having surgery, so we'll have to wait and see," said Denizard’s cousin Hans Cadet, 26.
Police sources and family members say Denizard was leaving for her job in Bayville, L.I., at 4:45 a.m. when a 6-foot, 5-inch black man wearing a black hoodie attacked her just steps from her car on 221st St. near 106th Ave. in Queens Village.
Family members said it was still unclear if Denizard had been targeted or if this was a random robbery that went horribly wrong.
Witnesses told police that her attacker might have thrown a cellphone into a nearby yard as he ran off. Cops spent most of the morning searching the yard for the phone, said neighbors stunned by the vicious assault.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
