According to Atlanta Fire Department Capt. Marian McDaniel, there was a 14-year-old girl who had been shot in the head. Grady Memorial Hospital says they have received one under-aged gunshot victim.
Atlanta Public Schools public information officer Steve Alford said the gunshot wound was more toward the back of the neck, and indicated that the girl was awake when taken to Grady Hospital.
The second person hurt was a teacher who may have been trampled in the confusion following the shooting. The teacher was also taken to Grady. His or her condition is not presently known.
Alford said the shooting suspect was apprehended by police. Atlanta Police spokesperson Carlos Campos said the suspect was tentatively identified as a student. Campos went on to say the shooting happened outside the school building.
