Lately, I’ve been concerned with an angle of the digital market that needs discussing: Editors. It concerns me that so few digital-only/digital-first writers are hiring this all-important help before the books go live. Via Julie Lawford Delete the scoop?

Time and time again on this site we tell you that it’s vital to have a close group of people around you who share your love of writing.
But…you have to be careful.
Without meaning to, friends can actually damage your work with blind encouragement. They can kill your writing with kindness. Delete the scoop?

Yes! This is by far the best post I've come across with the three pigs (imagine a French accent here) as a topic. To offer "stir" as meaning of pique is helpful, for the closest to the irritation which the onomatopoea (more in French than English) brings forth. "Ça pique!" may be uttered after misplacing key's, suffering a bite of an ant, or better yet, someone else by a fly (as in the saying "Quelle mouche t'a picqué?") in that latte case the expression means what's bugging you? Invigilating FCE & CAE recently, I saw precious little evidence of planning/brainstorming prior to leaping into writing tasks (and subsequently messy arrows & crossings out) but also candidates writing up to the buzzer and not giving themselves any time to check their own work. Absolutely NOT a waste of time - those extra 10 words won't make a difference; the re-read will rescue points. Delete the scoop?

I am frequently asked what the difference is between proofreading and copy editing. Then there is content editing. What is the difference between copy editing and content editing? Contrary to what most authors think, there are distinct differences among the three. Via Nathalie Hamidi Delete the scoop?
