Omar L. Gallaga: "The word “transmedia” itself has come to represent a concept that doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone, especially in publishing."
Are you sure you want to delete this scoop?
An interesting look at transmedia properties which have books as a key component. In fact, Dynasty of the Magi has just won the award for Best Transmedia Project in the Publishing Innovation Awards.
For business storytelling to be a success there needs to be a good strategy around making money. Given that eBooks and apps are so popular there is a definate opportunity to tell a great story using these platfrorms to create a more engaged community. I haven't bought this book but it seems to really understand transmedia and the use of muliple patforms. And this book, Dynasty of the Magi has just won the award for Best Transmedia Project in the Publishing Innovation Awards
Ray Bradbury told an audience at the San Diego Comic Con in 2010 that the secret to life is being in love — in love with life, with who you are and what you do.
Will Freeman: "The concept behind augmented reality books is simple: a physical book contains many elements that elude the human eye, only visible through the use of various apps, gadgets and other devices. "
So I thought I would try to put together a lens that will touch on all aspects of writing by way of blessing those who have already written about the different subjects. I have also found that there are a number of gaps in the Writing Tips given on Squidoo...
I especially like "Be Consistent" -- my biggest challenge!
You’re writing your story, maybe you’re a few days in or perhaps a few weeks, and suddenly you feel the compulsion to do the dishes. Or the laundry. Or tidy up that closet. And if, like me, you aren’t overly fond of housework or tedious chores, it may occur to you that it’s rather odd that you now feel compelled to do something you dislike rather than do the thing you’ve loved since you were a kid.
There is in fact a pretty simple reason why, and once you understand it, it can actually make it easier to get your head back in the game.
Negative obsessions are unhealthy, but most creators need positive obsessions to avoid periods of blockage and repetitive work, and to maintain inspiration.
Critiques make your writing better. Today I’d like to share an excerpt from my book 10 Core Practices for Better Writing.
Alguns fatos históricos dessa época que inspirou tantas histórias.
You can’t have too many writing tips! The first time someone told me “show, don’t tell,” I had no idea what they were talking about. Show what? Isn’t writing, by its very nature, telling?

☛ http://projectoadamastor.org/
Short Shorts? How to put them on? Ah, here's a list of pointers. Eh, Ted McLoof, if you read this, we writers have never been told to kill our babies. It's darlings, darlin'.

" . . . it doesn’t matter if a book is “for” a guy or a girl; the gender of the intended audience tends to get all mixed up when you factor in the power of a good story. Boys like stories; girls like stories. Readers in general like stories. We need to forget what we think about boys and reading and find them the stories they want."
The wise say that inspiration strikes at the oddest of hours and in the most unexpected of places. They are right.
Writers are often faced with new challenges. Sometimes, if we’re lucky, those challenges come with happy consequences. Collaborative writing can offer just such a pleasurable experience.
Years ago, there was a poster on the conference room wall at work that jokingly referred to birthing an elephant. It’s been over 20 years, so I am paraphrasing, but it went something like, “Working here is like birthing an elephant.

I put out “Book Marketing is Dead” almost 2 months ago and haven’t thought much about it. It’s doing pretty well and earning positive reviews.
