Linkin Park's 'The Hunting Party': Track-by-Track Review

Linkin Park's 'The Hunting Party': Track-by-Track Review | Linkin Park's New Album Release: "The Hunting Party" | Scoop.it
There's a war going down on the new Linkin Park album, the band's first since 2003 not produced by Rick Rubin. Without the guidance of their bearded generalissimo, these Cali rap-rock commandos go rogue, flinging missiles in all directions.
Edwin J. Gonzalez's insight:

On this article, there's a complete analysis on each track of the album. The writer makes an interesting point when he says that this album is basically a "prequel" of the band's first album: "Hybrid Theory". I do agree with him in the sense that this album does portray the heavy side of the band, and it seems more directed towards their beginnings. However, I do find that the album missed some key concepts development by the band's earliest work. Like the melody driven songs, for example. Nonetheless, this article does have reliable info on the matter and it comes from a trustworthy source.

Edwin J. Gonzalez's insight:

This is the first track of the new album "The Hunting Party". In it, you can appreciate the difference between what you've heard so far and the last few albums that they've released. It portrays a more hard rock approach and it gives a clearer view on what the listener can expect from the rest of the album.

Linkin Park's Hunting Party

Linkin Park's Hunting Party | Linkin Park's New Album Release: "The Hunting Party" | Scoop.it
Since the release of their GRAMMY-nominated debut album, 2000's Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park have pulled off quite the musical feat: earning six GRAMMY nominations and two wins, and releasing eight albums to chart in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200.
Edwin J. Gonzalez's insight:

In this article, Mike Shinoda (Guitarist, Keyboardist, Singer and Co-Producer on the album) discusses how did they feel upon winning their first Grammy and what's the band's perspective on the new album. It's relevant because it's more oriented towards the band's opinion and feel trough the record. In my opinion, the album does portray what Shinoda is referring to about the concept that they wanted to show in the album.

Edwin J. Gonzalez's insight:

In this video article Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennignton discuss the nature of the album, and how it reflects their "inspirations" in terms of what they liked to hear when they were younger. Mike elaborates on the concept of the record being a "prequel" of their first album: Hybrid Theory, and explains that what he meant with that is that the album is directed towards what got them excited to be musicians and write music. This source is really reliable because it provides the band's opinion, first hand.

Linkin Park took to the stage at 9.40 pm, to a rapturous welcome. About 30,000 fans sang along to tracks such as “Points of Authority” and “One Step Closer”, while also checking out material from the new album.
Edwin J. Gonzalez's insight:

This article presents details on the band's current tour in Europe. It also adds info on their current set list, giving the impression that they're comparing the new album to the first one they released. They've been adding songs from their first album: "Hybrid Theory", into the tour"s set list. In my perspective, they're trying to do this as a marketing strategy to get former fans involved in the new project.

This is Linkin Park's official Facebook page. They use the page to give details on their new album and tour. To be honest, they don't seem that connected to social media as other contemporary artists.
