What Type of Technology Integrator Are You?

So, when it comes to technology integration, how would you classify yourself—as a leader, a sharp one, the wood, a ferrule, an eraser or maybe you’re one of those hangers-on? What. The. What? Yeah, if you’re wondering what in the world I’m referring to, then you definitely want to check out the Pencil Metaphor graphic shown below—one that outlines six ways educators typically react to the utilization of technology for educational purposes.

We have to be careful when we categorize the way this article suggests we should. What gets passed off as innovation and creativity is frequently doing the same thing with a new tool which may or may not be the right tool.

Five Best Online Presentation Creation Tools

Five Best Online Presentation Creation Tools | Cibereducação | Scoop.it
You don't have to download an office suite to build great-looking presentations for work, a talk, or school. There are plenty of online options that work well from any computer with a web browser, whether it's your desktop, a PC at work, or a laptop on the go. This week we're looking at five of the best.

There are plenty of good reasons to consider an online presentation app—by and large, the best ones are either free or low-cost, they store all of your data online for you to access when you need it, and you don't have to carry around files or your own computer to give a presentation—as long as there's a web browser where you're headed, you can give flawless talks—assuming you know your material of course—there's more to a great presentation than the slides. Still, earlier in the week we asked you for the best online presentation creation tools, and you gave us a bunch of great options. Here are your five top picks, in no particular order.

How to Make Your Infographic Clickable in 10 Minutes or Less

How to Make Your Infographic Clickable in 10 Minutes or Less | Cibereducação | Scoop.it

The great thing about marketing content that's mostly text is that you can put in a few links here and there if you think your readers would find them helpful.

But what about when your marketing content is an image, like an infographic?

Readers may come across a section they'd like to learn more about or a topic they don't quite understand where a link would be helpful to them.

Good news: Using a free and simple tool called Thinglink, you can actually add in helpful links right on the infographic to help out your readers, encourage interaction, make your infographic more shareable, and drive traffic to other site pages on your website. Pretty cool, eh?

Darkness.com ☥'s curator insight, January 29, 2015 4:36 PM

Comic books are great, but the question this article poses is: "Do comic books innovate and improve reading habits for children, --do they lead to more enriching material?" I like the idea, but unfortunately, I cannot side with the idea that comic books improve the reading habits of children.

The digital generation is upon us, and video is king. Comic books are not going to pull young readers into books without pictures, --they're just a cop-out for trying to get kids to read more. There are illustrated classics already in existence, --and as cool as it is that Marvel is converting classic literature into graphic novels, is it possible that instead of introducing classical literature, we're just introducing kids to comics?

Artificial Intelligence Will Kill Capitalism

Artificial Intelligence Will Kill Capitalism | Cibereducação | Scoop.it

For a long time, artificial intelligence was little more than science fiction — now it's now just a matter of time until it becomes reality. The boom of computing capabilities have seen the power of servers multiplied a billion times over in the span of just 31 years, making it likely that an artificial intelligence superior to our own will emerge in the coming decades.

Why Pinterest Is So Addictive | Cibereducação | Scoop.it

Since Pinterest exploded on the social media scene, the user base has only grown. In the beginning, it was the social platform for women. Crafts, fashion, food and more flooded the screen with attractive pictures and an easy-to-use sharing model. Now all different types of people and companies use Pinterest.

Have you checked out the Daily Infographic Pinterest board? Pinterest is creeping into my Google searches more and more lately. Whether I’m researching new pants or Internet marketing, I keep getting Pinterest in the results. Then I end up spending two hours scrolling down and learn way too much about carrot cake....
