RIED.

Levels of Interactivity (and Why You’re Overcomplicating Things)

Levels of Interactivity (and Why You’re Overcomplicating Things) | Linguagem Virtual | Scoop.it
veryone knows that interactivity and engagement can make or break an eLearning program, but if you run a simple Web search on how to best approach interactivity, you’re going to hear a lot of noise. One firm will compare interactivity with the Olympic rings, while another makes a pie graph. Call it the elephant in the room: Every instructional designer is essentially coming up with a new slant on Bloom’s taxonomy.

But pretty pictures and clever metaphors can muddy the waters on something that should be simple to understand: Interactivity is on a spectrum. By understanding when to use different levels of interactivity, you can ditch all the noise and metaphors for a clearer picture of how to truly engage learners.

Great websites do not happen by accident. A site is considered successful if it is useful, relevant, and well designed. As the Head of the UX department in a code-free web design platform, I spend a lot of time thinking about great design and how it can be used to create great websites.

While different web projects each have different needs, there are some design principles and best practices that are universal to all sites. In this article, we will take a look at 5 Design Tips to Revive Your Dead Website....

EmergingEdTech has been running a Try-a-Tool-a-Week Challenge and this week Screencast-O-Matic is the tool of the week. If you have not used this tool and are interested in doing screencasting (also known as screen capture) take the time to review this video.

The free version allows you to record up to 15 minutes, but you cannot edit the film. There is a paid version for $15 per year, which allows for editing and unlimited length! Screencast-O-Matic may be used as a web app, or you can download it (PC and Mac).

Dr. Laura Sheneman's curator insight, April 24, 9:27 AM

This is one of my go-to tools.  I use it for so many things.  It's a great tool for tech support when you can share a screen with someone.  Make a quick video to model what they should be doing on their computer.
