WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT

Interesting to see how pirates distribute their loot and wha constitutes valuable information, other than credit card numbers.

What is most interesting here I believe are these stats:

thousands of fake female profiles

- 90-95% of actual users are male

Speaks volume on the anonymity of the Internet and the lack of reliable information out there.

Peter Azzopardi's curator insight, October 4, 2014 6:24 AM

When your content is on the Egg, it’s as though it’s in your home. He has business documents and photos of his children on his Egg. I wouldn’t put pictures of my kids up on Facebook.

Guest post: Thanks to @The Hacking Post for the scoop.

Michelle Smith's curator insight, October 4, 2014 11:57 AM

Thomas Martis and two of his colleagues developed a product called the Egg. It is similar to iCloud only it is tangible and doesn't have the potential to be hacked by anyone. It is intended to be used for important documents and images that you don't feel comfortable having on the internet. For example, your will, copies of birth certificates and social security cards, deeds, etc. I think this is a great product because it is unsettling knowing that all my information is somewhere in cyberspace and now there is an alternative to that.

In practice, it's a global visualization of cyber attacks that, Kaspersky hopes, will motivate you to buy their security software. But it's still a hell of a spectacle.
