How Social Media Can Destroy Your Productivity - Lifehack

How Social Media Can Destroy Your Productivity - Lifehack | Linguagem Virtual | Scoop.it
You might not think your occasional Facebook posts and Tweets really matter in the grand scheme of things, but social media is a serious time waster.

Therefore Freedom (for Mac users) and AntiSocial software lives on the computers of those who want to focus on their own projects. Freedom cuts off all Internet use, AntiSocial just makes visiting the social networks impossible. The make of AntiSocial warns novice users not to cut off for too much time, i.e. don't go cold turkey.

Why?

Because you will SUFFER withdrawel signs as with any other addiction.

John Dalziel's curator insight, September 8, 2015 6:39 AM

There are many tools for making check lists. Practitioners, and/or learners, could...
   ● go old-school and keep check lists in a paper notebook, or
   ● put them on Post-It notes on their desk, or
   ● use a plain text file to keep track of their check lists, if they’re a fan of the minimalist look on their computer.
There are also a lot of other great tools that can be used to manage checklists, each of which can be very valuable if they decide to make a lot of different lists.
Wunderlist is one such tool that allows users to...
   ● make different to-do lists.
   ● organize and share their to-do/work etc., lists.
   ● set Due Dates and Reminders and Assign to-dos. No matter whether their lists are course/work related or just for fun.
   ● share their lists and work collaboratively on projects with others.
Wunderlist works seamlessly across all major devices, available for free on...
   ● iPhone,
   ● iPad,
   ● Mac,
   ● Android,
   ● Windows,
   ● Kindle Fire and
   ● the Web
No matter what they’re planning, how big or small the task may be, Wunderlist makes it easier to get stuff done.

Why 'No' is the Most Important Word You'll Ever Say

Why 'No' is the Most Important Word You'll Ever Say | Linguagem Virtual | Scoop.it
Be proactive. When you say yes to every opportunity, your actions become reactive and it can bleed in to other areas of your business. You may become oversensitive to pressure-filled situations and lose focus.

Reactive entrepreneurs often become slaves to the demands of clients, employees, investors and partners. Instead of working toward your long-term goals, you could find yourself chasing after every coin — and undermine your future earnings in the process.

Say No Without Burning Bridges

Say No Without Burning Bridges | Linguagem Virtual | Scoop.it

A neutral no is steady, uninflected, and clear. It is mostly notable for what it is not: harsh, combative, apologetic, reluctant, or overly nice.

Saying no neutrally doesn’t necessarily come naturally. To get better at it, practice ahead of time with someone who will push back. Eventually, it’ll become easier to say yes to saying no – without destroying important relationships.
