"Someone said I was fat because I got chocolate milk at the canteen."

The comments come from two 16-year-old Wanganui girls bullied on a popular website.

Now a psychiatrist is asking parents to have conversations with their children about their internet use as another death is linked to the website Ask.fm.

Infographic: The Definition, Means, And Effects Of Cyberbullying | Linguagem Virtual | Scoop.it

"Bullying is bullying, and there has been significant progress in this incredibly important issue in the last ten years. In many of the classrooms we’ve been in over the last two or three years, bullying has shifted from the teacher vernacular to that of the students. It is not uncommon at all to see students observe, identify, socialize, and move to correct bullying on their own without input from teachers."

The Cyberbullying Issue (And What Teachers Can Do To Help) - Edudemic

The Cyberbullying Issue (And What Teachers Can Do To Help) - Edudemic | Linguagem Virtual | Scoop.it
Cyberbullying poses a problem for students that teachers and parents often can’t help with – because they don’t always know. The internet (and mobile technologies) has brought bullying to a place outside the easy access of adults, who can’t intervene if they don’t know there’s a problem. “O ciberbullying atinge todas as classes sociais”

“O ciberbullying atinge todas as classes sociais” | Linguagem Virtual | Scoop.it
