Georgia Wallace's insight:

The article that I have selected reminds the public that not only is cancer life threatening however very expensive to cure. I believe that there should be more support given to people who cannot afford cancer treatment as it is quite costy and I can imagine that there are many people all over that world that cannot supply the funds needed to purchase the cure to such a life threatening disease such as cancer. I am not able to realise the purpose of fund raising days around the world and know that they do truely made an impact on peoples lives when they cannot afford the treatment for cancer. I cannot begin to imagine how difficult it could be if a member of  a family found out they had cancer and could not supply the money for the treatment.

Georgia Wallace's insight:

The article I have selected is about celebrity Susan Boyle being diagnosed with 2 types of diabetes. This quite sad to hear however by a celebrity such as Susan Boyle coming out and speaking about her diagnosis with diabetes it is able to raise awareness for the lifestyle disease and shows that diabetes can happen to anyone. The more people know about a liestyle disease the more likely they are to know how to deal with it if it happens to come their way and also be reminded that there are things out there such as lifestyle diseases that they should be aware of.

Sommermann set out to complete 50 races in 50 states before age 50 (“@Hawaii247: Cancer survivor using triathlons to raise funds http://t.co/LviI1aCxaP”;)...

Georgia Wallace's insight:

The article I have selected is about a cancer survivour using triathalons to raise funds for cancer. I believe that the act of establishing events to raise funds for cancer is a great way to raise awareness for lifestyle diseases such as cancer and by promoting it in a way such as triathalons that remains the participant to be heathly and fit and is promoting health and fitness itself. By reading this article I now feel like participating in fund raising events such as these are not always about the money that is raised, rather the awareness that is raised.
