Versace to open its First hotel in Macau

Versace to open its First hotel in Macau | Lifestyle | Scoop.it

According to various sources including the Wall Street Journal, Versace would have entered into a partnership with the promoter SJM Holdings, operator of casinos, to build and develop a casino hotel, the Palazzo Versace in Macau. This project is part of the Macau casino activity representing 28 billion of revenue from games, or six times those of Las Vegas.

The project, managed by LSU, a subsidiary of the Group Stanley Ho, includes 700 table games, 1,000 slot machines and 2,000 hotel rooms. These new casino-resorts will compete with offerings from Las Vegas Sands Corp, Hong Kong's Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd., Hong Kong-Australian venture Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd. and Nevada-based Wynn Resorts Ltd. and MGM Resorts International.

Aaron Fischer, a casino and luxury goods analyst at brokerage CLSA in Hong Kong, said the Versace partnership will "undoubtedly alleviate" some investor concerns about SJM's ability to build a Las Vegas-style casino-resort. The deal will also help Versace promote its brand to Chinese customers, he said. "I can think of nowhere that has a higher concentration of rich mainland Chinese consumers than Macau."

The project could also mark a design departure for the company, whose flagship Grand Lisboa casino is a glittering lotus structure with expensive Chinese antiques inside.

Macau, a famous destination with prosperity and peace, fashion and history, oriental and western cultures, is deserving of a visit and a stay here is sure to revitalize the weary visitor.

Known as 'Oriental Las Vegas', the gambling industry in Macau is booming and has already become an important feature of the local economy.

For Versace, it is the 3rd hotel project of this type after those of Australia and Dubai. The hotel is expected to open in 2015.

Swimming with Dolphins!

Swimming with Dolphins! | Lifestyle | Scoop.it

Have you ever lived out a fantasy? It’s probably a lot different to what you’re doing right now, but just because it seems like something most people only dream about doesn’t mean you can’t do it. Some people think climbing the world’s highest mountain is the ultimate rush. For others it’s trekking deep inside tropical jungles. Then you have the people who spent too much time watching Flipper when they were children and they want to go swimming with dolphins.

If you’ve never swam with them before you’ll be surprised how amazing it can be. Not only because you can play around with these beautiful creatures, but because you can do it in some of the most beautiful locations on the planet and Portugal is among them.

No fantasy is complete without the location and swimming with dolphins and your local Sea World definitely doesn’t qualify as a real adventure. Before you get any strange ideas of far off destinations check out Portugal, blessed with a mild, sunny climate, good food, fine wine and low prices. For those with an adventurous spirit, Portugal also offers two very different types of swimming-with-the-dolphins experiences. The structured and more traditional aquarium-based dolphin-swimming program is available in the Algarve, while Portugal's islands offer the rare chance to join an organized tour and swim with dolphins in the wild.

Top five rules for giving wedding gifts they're guaranteed to love. | Facebook

Top five rules for giving wedding gifts they're guaranteed to love. | Facebook | Lifestyle | Scoop.it

At every wedding you attend as a wedding guest, you're inevitably faced with the age-old question: What should you give?

Buy From Their Registry

Don't get too creative: Nearly 85% of brides want you to select a wedding gift from their wedding registry list, and 98% have at least one registry list, either in a store or on the web. The couple set up the registry for a reason, and if you stick to it, you can't possibly buy a gift they won't like!

Kitchen, Entertaining, Bed, and Bath Gifts a Must

Today's couples want modern twists on the traditional wedding gifts, even though some of the most coveted gifts still hail from the kitchen, dining, bedding, and bath departments. For deluxe bedding and bath, give them gifts that will create a spa-like, hotel environment every morning when they wake up or for entertaining, everyday affairs, consider giving a set dishes and stainless flatware that can multitask.

Don't Spend Less Than $50

It's a bad idea to use the price-per-plate as a measure for how much you should spend on the wedding gift -- Spend what you think is appropriate to your relationship to the couple, and also consider what's reasonable in your city.
• Coworker and/or a distant family friend or relative: 50-75 euros
• Relative or friend: 75-100 euros
• Close relative or close friend: 100-150+ euros

Give a Big Group Gift

If the couple has registered for an item that's out of range for just one person to afford, ask some other guests to chip in with you. It's also a great idea for the bridal party to band together and buy the couple the item of their dreams.

Buy it Within Two Months

Two out of three newlywed couples often don’t receive all of their wedding gifts, so we wonder -- what ever happened to the longstanding one-year rule? With the convenience of online buying and shipping, there's little excuse for such a delay -- try to send your gift within two months of the wedding.
