NYPD to iPhone owners: Hurry up and download iOS 7

NYPD to iPhone owners: Hurry up and download iOS 7 | Life @ Work | Scoop.it
Police in New York hand out fliers explaining to Apple faithful that iOS 7 brings with it Activation Lock, which makes it harder for a thief to turn off the 'Find My Phone' feature. Read this article by Chris Matyszczyk on CNET News.

Morgan Kroes's curator insight, September 27, 2013 2:55 PM

I think that is a good idea that the police are trying to help out, because Find My iPhone is actually a really big help. If someone steals your phone, they can use technology to turn it off. But iOS 7 makes it more difficult to turn that off, so that's very useful.

Margaret Kooser's comment, September 27, 2013 2:57 PM
I'm glad that the IPhone made it harder for criminals to be found. I also think it was good for the NYPD to hand out fliers so that people can understand it better. But at the same time they basically just let all of the criminals of New York know that it is going to be harder for them to turn it off, but it is possible.

Some good advice here. Whilst on holiday recently, we found ourselves eating our Data bundles. We take these for granted when in the UK, at home using WIFI, of as part of your tariff, However, it's easy when you are abroad to forget just how much data we use, even simple switching to manual checking of email can save a lot.
