Women use social networks to connect with their friends, family and colleagues more than men, finds a new survey. Men, however, are more likely to use voice/phone communication than women.

 

The survey, fielded by Rebtel, focused on expected future use of social media, social media consumption habits and popularity of social media as the choice of U.S. adults if they were to be restricted to one method of communication.

 

“Our findings show that men tend to lag behind women when it comes to communicating with others through social media, which debunks other recent studies that suggest that men are more savvy networkers between the sexes,” says Rebtel CEO Andreas Bernstrom...

The notion of privacy both offline and online is currently in contention and is featuring heavily in the spotlight.

 

The concept of privacy is reaching a very fragile state. With every single status update that we share, we are foregoing a part of our privacy, readily handing over data to pretty much anyone that wants to access it. Yet it is something that we seem so willing to do. Privacy as a concept will only last as long as society functions in a way to protect it and that is rapidly eroding.


While we can access tools or processes that allow us to protect our own privacy, as a society we are increasingly ignoring these in favour of sharing pretty much everything...
