Life to brands - the good stuff
Companies, brands and organizations are waking-up to the fact they need to humanize their brands if they want to WIN. A decade ago agencies rallied around the challenge of bringing 'brands to life' but this implied an outside in approach that was more 'fake & fluff' than anything meaningful and engaging. Today, the smarter agencies and their clients are rallying around the challenge of bringing 'life to brands'. This is a more authentic people powered, 'inside-out' strategy that tries to humanize brands and make them relevant, caring and engaging.

John Michel's curator insight, June 12, 2013 7:32 PM

Recent advances in behavioural economics, cognitive neuroscience, network theory and social psychology more generally have overturned our common sense understanding of human behaviour. The rational, autonomous, self-aware agent acting in his own self-interest according to static preferences has faded as we realise that behaviour is largely irrational, unconscious and driven by external contexts. Ladies and gentleman, Homo economicus has left the building.

John Michel's curator insight, June 18, 2013 9:15 AM

Culture, like brand, is misunderstood and often discounted as a touchy-feely component of business that belongs to HR. It's not intangible or fluffy, it's not a vibe or the office décor. It's one of the most important drivers that has to be set or adjusted to push long-term, sustainable success. It's not good enough just to have an amazing product and a healthy bank balance. Long-term success is dependent on a culture that is nurtured and alive. Culture is the environment in which your strategy and your brand thrives or dies a slow death.

John Michel's curator insight, June 18, 2013 3:06 PM

An outstanding article on culture...read it not once, but twice..it is that relevant!
