My neighborhood is experiencing a crime wave. Just on my block in the last week, several packages were stolen from doorsteps and tires have been slashed on at least two cars. I found all of this out from an app that's quickly becoming our neighborhood's best security system. "I heard it from Fred two doors down" is being replaced by "I saw it on Nextdoor."
Anwer Kotob's insight:

A very interesting new social media app that works at the neighborhood level, allowing neighbors to share information, local news and alerts.

The use of real names limits some of the abuse and misuse, but does not completely stamp them out. The same applies for inflammatory posts.

Nevertheless, a potentially very useful twist on social media..

I would add "mutual respect" to kindness as the two key ingredients to a happy  marriage.
