Митинг в поддержку присоединения Крыма к России - YouTube

Тысячи людей собрались в Симферополе, чтобы поддержать идею вхождения Автономной Республики Крым в состав Российской Федерации. Референдум о статусе автономи...
Uliana Sidorova's insight:

This is what Russian people saw on all the TV channels during Putin's occupation of Crimea. Every day they show people crying and asking help of Putin and Russian soldiers. Who could guess that their neighbors, Ukrainians watch daily news like this one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWhJGLBj6Fk

where Crimean people say they do not want to be protected by anyone, they want only peace for their country.

The same works for media reports related to the violence torwards Russian showed in Russia and towards Ukrainians showed in Ukraine. Youtube is full of  videos  of beaten or bulled people by one or another nation. The only thing you have to know is the language you in the search column.

Putin’s Crimea Propaganda Machine

Putin’s Crimea Propaganda Machine | Lies About Ukraine | Scoop.it
To justify its invasion of Crimea, the Kremlin and state-run media went into full fabrication mode this weekend. Here are the lies that Russia is telling its viewers back home.
Uliana Sidorova's insight:

I like this one. And I sincerely believe in some of that. Let's admit that Putin and the media controlled by him do produce propagandistic messages. I also believe that some of that are fabricated.  But I still have some questions. The reporter of The Daily Beast hints that in Ukraine there are no neo-Nazis or extremists. So, why do they wear various Nazi symbols and laces?

About the famous attack of the bus with the Russian journalists. I want to believe the writer. But if the only proof is the Crimean license plate number, I cannot be totally convinced. The arms he mentions are used not only by Russians as he stated, even if they were invented and developed in the Soviet Union. By the way, GM-94 grenade launchers are largely used in the US.

And if the reporter asks how the bus managed to get to Crimea, I have a question for him: how did millions of Mexicans manage to get to the US if there is a strict border control?

Керри: США не хотят возвращения к холодной войне из-за ситуации вокруг Украины

Керри: США не хотят возвращения к холодной войне из-за ситуации вокруг Украины | Lies About Ukraine | Scoop.it
Америка готова действовать вместе с Россией "против любых хулиганов и бандитских выходок", заверил госсекретарь
Uliana Sidorova's insight:

This is an interesting representation of John Kerry's speech about the conflict. After his speech of the 2nd of March about Putin’s invasion of Crimea, the Russian News agency Itar-Tass wrote this article where they “quote” Kerry’s words: “The US does not want to return to the cold war with Russia for the current events”. This was the title. Below they continue by writing: America is ready to act together with Russia against all the hooligans and criminal actions. According to them, Kerry said also that they understand that Russia has interests in Crimea. To compare the interpretation of Kerry’s speech in the Russian media, this is the link to the transcript of his speech:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/face-the-nation-transcripts-march-2-2014-kerry-hagel/

As it is seen, Kerry states that America and other members of G7 are ready to isolate politically and economically Russia if Putin does not stop his violent actions.

Victoria Nuland Admits: US Has Invested $5 Billion In The Development of Ukrainian, "Democratic Institutions"

Uliana Sidorova's insight:

Pay attention to Nuland's statement about the US investment in Ukraine's democracy. She said that since 1991 the US has invested 5 billions on the development of democracy in Ukraine. This statement became very popular among the Russian media. They took advantage of her words in order to blame America in provoking the conflict in Ukraine.

In this web site an independent media organization reveals Nuland's words as an unveiled secret of the United States, stating that America recently has sent 5 billions to Ukraine.

Go to 7:26 of the video where states that.

The audience concludes that that money were spent of the armament and the organization of the protests.

Seagal: US not listening to Russia about Ukraine

Actor and activist Steven Seagal was recently part of an American delegation to Russia in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing. Now he is critical of...
Uliana Sidorova's insight:

In this video we see that many American viewers have noticed that the US media cover only events from one prospective, and that they have no idea what Russia might have to say about the conflict. He points out that Russia obviously has an opinion, but it is not listened to. The same can be said about every country's media. In Russia, media channels show everything that serves their government's interests. Ukraine does the same.

The Russian English speaking channel actually admitted to be biased adding to their American colleagues that they are not different from each other:

In each country there are a whole world of events not told or obscured by the media.

Russian TV Propagandists Caught Red-Handed: Same Guy, Three Different People (Spy, Bystander, Heroic Surgeon)

Russian TV Propagandists Caught Red-Handed: Same Guy, Three Different People (Spy, Bystander, Heroic Surgeon) | Lies About Ukraine | Scoop.it
Three different channels have featured interviews with one Andrei Petkov, lying wounded in a hospital in the south Ukrainian city of Nikolayev. In the three interviews, he is identified by name. He is on his back in a hospital bed, describing his experiences in the previous evening’s violence, which left him with serious wounds. Petkov is dressed in a black outfit, his nose bandaged. In each interview, he speaks softly, but with earnest conviction. He cuts a sympathetic and credible figure. The problem is that Nikolai Petkov is a different person in each interview!
Uliana Sidorova's insight:

Here, the Russian media cannot dispute. I heard the guy's interviews, he really claims different things. The most hilarious was when he said on NTV that  he brought 500000 euros from Germany given to him by mysterious people to buy the arms for the protest on Maidan. On Russia 1, a couple of days later he said that he collected a bit of money by working in Germany and spent them to participate in the anti-Ukrainian protests. Understand, during such an intense time, various media channels do not have time to meet and agree on the unique version.

Putin: 'Nonsense - no Russian troops, special services in east Ukraine'

Putin: 'Nonsense - no Russian troops, special services in east Ukraine' | Lies About Ukraine | Scoop.it
“This is nonsense, there are no Russian troops in the east of Ukraine,” Vladimir Putin said at an annual Q&A session, adding that the Kiev government should talk to the local residents to tackle the problem, not send in tanks to deal with it.
Uliana Sidorova's insight:

No Russian troops in the Eastern Ukraine. Nobody believes. And they invent any way to prove the opposite. For example, The New York Times demonstrated its creativity by producing articles like these:

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/21/world/europe/photos-link-masked-men-in-east-ukraine-to-russia.html?_r=1

And it was discard by a critical American viewer:

Разоблачение лжи украинских СМИ

Разоблачение лжи украинских СМИ | Lies About Ukraine | Scoop.it
Uliana Sidorova's insight:

The site is called "Unmasking of lies of Ukrainian's media". The video was showed on the first national channel. It talks about a list of lies that media in Ukraine tell:

1. In Ukraine there are no Nazi extremists and the Russian speaking citizens are not in danger.

It uses a piece of BBC news edition where people from Maidan claim to be a supporters of Hitler's ideology and show clips of a harsh behavior of the leader of the protests Musichko who has a dark criminal past. The leader of the right sector, a nationalist-radical party gives order to exterminate all the anti-Ukrainian reports. Also, it shows racist actions against Russian and Russian-speaking people. During the protests people would shout: "Moscali (a rude name of the Russians used in Ukraine) on the knifes" which practically means to stab them to death. A deputy Irina Farion, states that Russia is his thief and deserves to spill blood.

 2. The military collision was provoked by Yanukovich's snipers.

The video shows how the activists first started to attack.

3. In the new Ukraine's government there are no criminal stories.

It says that during the correcting of the constitution there have been rude violations of the law.

4. The freedom of the speech in Ukraine.

Ukrainian reporters complain about the pressure from the government.

 5. The new government brought peace and order.

The crime rate has multiplied a few times during the last two months.

6. Crimean citizens support the new government.

It shows a video of a paid director who indicates his 15 actors how to behave and what to say during the false protests supporting the Kiev's government.

A similar video was done by German media translated and broadcasted in Russia:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvLqeDWWbUc

It focuses on factual video records indicating that activists attacked the police first, and the police gave orders not to shoot unarmed people. Instead the activists were violent and killed a lot of policemen.

These information of course was not shown by the Ukrainian media.

'Putin trying to restore Soviet Union'

'Putin trying to restore Soviet Union' | Lies About Ukraine | Scoop.it
Ukraine's interim PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to "restore the Soviet Union", in an interview on US television.
Uliana Sidorova's insight:

I decide not to attach the link with Putin's speech where he states that Russia is not going any further because I am myself not sure if he is going to change his mind as he did with Crimea in the end of February saying that there is no need to send the troops to Crimea. However, Yatsenyuk exaggerates with the accuse of Putin wanting to restore the Soviet Union. Putin's involvement in the conflict was based on many factors, such as the Russian fleet situated in Crimea, his fear that Crimea could become a new NATO's military base, and finally his own reputation in Russia. As the Russian authorities often underline, "for the sake of a single American citizen abroad who is in danger, the US government normally sends numerous military forces. In Crimea, there are millions of Russian citizens. It would have been a shame for the Russian president to ignore those people." Before, we saw that the myths about peaceful pro-Ukrainian supporters are not true. Said all this, I want to add that I do not support Putin's choice of methods of actions. The fact that he had reasons to invade Crimea does not discharge him of the responsibility for his illegal actions, breaking international laws and provoking an international aversion and distrust toward Russia.
