Ads coming soon to Toronto Public Library date-due slips

“It doesn’t tend to get, shall we say, high notice, but it does put a message into hundreds of thousands of hands very inexpensively,” said Mississauga library services director Don Mills.

However, with Georgie, you hold your finger down, wait for a beep and hear the function you’re touching read out loud, whether it’s to make a call, send a text, or determine your location. Georgie makes extensive use of voice control software.

Recommending Books for the Characters of BREAKING BAD | LibraryLinks LiensBiblio | Scoop.it

Frequently grim, but just as often daffy, each season of AMC's Breaking Bad crystalizes into pure, novelistic TV drama. Some of these characters need guidance. Some need nurturing. Others simply require enablement. This is entertainment after all. Today let’s recommend some books to all those shambling in the wake of Heisenberg’s fallout.

Amazon’s rumoured same-day delivery service could crush U.S. booksellers | Quillblog | Quill & Quire | LibraryLinks LiensBiblio | Scoop.it

Amazon’s new goal is to get stuff to you immediately — as soon as a few hours after you hit “buy”… Same-day delivery has long been the holy grail of Internet retailers, something that dozens of startups have tried and failed to accomplish … If it can pull that off, the company will permanently alter how we shop. Since it's more of a summer camp and these are younger students, we wanted to make sure they would have some fun and be engaged... so we are using murder mysteries as our hands-on activity after a short instruction session to prepare the students for detective work.
