Immigration and Refugee Resource Page | Governor Jay Inslee

President Donald Trump recently signed a series of executive orders that have the potential to impact Washingtonians who are working, living, studying or visiting here with a visa, green card or as a refugee. Gov. Jay Inslee has spoken out against these orders, pledging that Washington will remain a state that welcomes people of all faiths, nationalities and orientations. The governor is supporting a suit filed Jan. 30 by state Attorney General Bob Ferguson to challenge the constitutionality of some of the president’s orders.

In a case pitting standards development organisations against internet content aggregators, a United States federal court ruled that Public.Resource.Org breached copyright by posting unauthorised copies of standards incorporated into government education regulations. Public Resource has appealed.

The IFLA’s Law Libraries Section and the Subject Analysis and Access Sections will be jointly hosting a two-hour open session during the 2017 conference in Wroclaw, Poland. We are seeking papers that highlight innovative and effective ways of applying subject access to legal resources. While the session will focus on optimizing subject access to legal information, most if not all of the program will have broad application to subject access in all types of libraries.
