Rednell's curator insight, March 21, 2014 10:10 AM

I loved the movie and the book. Interestingly, enough, the book is an adult fiction written by Michael Ende; however, the movie is billed as a children's fantasy. I believe what makes it easier to love one as much as the other is that; unlike most books-to-movies, the producers/director did not make an attempt to create an visual concept for the book's intended audience.

Another favorite book of mine is Michael Ende's, "Momo".  Mr. Ende's books appear to hold a message for adults about  our relationship with children and childhood fears; that will stay with you a lifetime.
