After reading this article I kept thinking "education as Amazon.com" - because technology is going to allow us to use those algorithms to individualize the educational experience. The BEST part, though, is under the heading "The human factor: Teachers and data." The technology is best utilized under the professional direction of a human facilitator...

Excellent blog post that is appropriate to more than just those "in the middle." Redesigning spaces to accommodate a new generation of learners is something I think about a lot - and I'm sure savvy school librarians have been ahead of this curve. How do we keep from "layering" new technology over "old pedagogy?" Links included for further reading.

Perhaps School as we know is on the way out, but education and School are not interchangeable words although they are used that way frequently. Actually, School as we know it should have been on the way out a long time ago. With the current reformers who propose change that does not change the structure, it is not happening soon.
