5 Easy Steps To Drive More Facebook Traffic To Your Website

5 Easy Steps To Drive More Facebook Traffic To Your Website | Les Enjeux du Web Marketing | Scoop.it

Excerpt from the article published by Social Media Examiner:
"Getting Facebook fans to your website is even more critical with Facebook’s recent announcement of decreased organic reach for pages.
Use these five steps to help you get more traffic Facebook to your website.

#1: Make Sure You Have a Steady Stream of Shareable Content on Your Website
These days, the name of the game is content marketing and you had better figure out how your business can participate.
Posting something new and helpful once a week or even once a month can benefit your website traffic.
Here are some ideas that can help you brainstorm how you can add new content to your website:
- Post a weekly tip about your niche;
- Post a weekly news bite with a photo;
- Curate a list of top 10 helpful articles;
- Interview someone in your office or in your industry.

#2: Make it Easy to Share Your Content to Facebook on Your Website
Once you have fresh content, you need to make it shareable. Your first step is to add a social share plugin and/or Facebook Share buttons.
I like using the Digg Digg plugin because it has all of the buttons I want to display and it floats along the side of the post as the reader scrolls through the article.
Also consider asking for a Facebook share if you feel you have a particularly helpful blog post.

#3: Optimize Your Facebook Posts
here are basically three different ways you can post a link to your website:
- The traditional way to post a link is just to cut and paste the link into the status section and allow the link to pull in the photo and metadata.
- Another way to post a link is to post a photo and then add the link into the status update with a little blurb about the link.
- One technique that has been popular in the past to get greater reach is to post your link in the status section and then “X-out” the link data that is pulled in to change the post to “text only,” even though it has a link in it.

#4: Optimize Other Places on Facebook to Add Links to Your Website
To drive more traffic to your website, make sure you have links in other parts of your Facebook page that people may be visiting.
- Use your About page
- Add links to your milestones
- Add links in your photo descriptions
- Use custom tabs with links to your website
- Optimize your personal profile

#5: Advertise
With Facebook’s recent announcements about decreased organic reach, advertising is going to be even more critical for marketers.
To drive traffic to your website, you can either create an ad from scratch with a link to your website, or boost content that you’ve already posted. When you boost content, remember to post something that doesn’t have a photo that has more than 20% text in it or it won’t get approved by Facebook..."

Each step and tips are analyzed with more information. Read full original article here:

The New Rules of Search Engine Optimization (Infographic)

The New Rules of Search Engine Optimization (Infographic) | Les Enjeux du Web Marketing | Scoop.it

In recent years, marketers and company owners could approach SEO and its value to Google and other search engines by producing quality, relevant content that would interest their audience. Unfortunately, with the rise of dishonest PageRank practices, it seems that producing that same quality, relevant content is no longer the most effective way to rank in the search engine arena.

Here is a different look on #seo http://buff.ly/MImAdH , #patowings showing an infographic based post on sea vs new seo. Enjoy the read !!

Martin (Marty) Smith's curator insight, March 21, 2014 10:52 PM

Just got a great tweet from Jack Varnell:

Jack Varnell @jackvarnell 2m

@ScentTrail - Agreed but it is all taxonomy. Could also say there will ALWAYS be new #SEO http://sco.lt/6jc0iP  via @scoopit #SEO

AGREE with Jack. The way he says it the emphasis is where it belongs - on the constant sea of change as Google and everyone else iterates code daily and hourly some day soon.

Radical SEO Idea

In 2003 I climbed up on a soapbox and tried to sell my Direct Marketing bosses on content marketing. They knew content because they paid BIG BUCKS to copywriters.

DM writers seemed to have a magic wand. They could tell a story that motivated people open their mail and call the call center. Today we need so much less WORK from our customers and yet achieving that "less work" is so much harder.

My radical idea is THERE IS NO "NEW SEO".

I'm not saying that half of this infographic (the new half) isn't helpful. It is helpful, but the idea of comparison is a) moot and b) not as dramatic as this comparison makes it feel and seem.

Understanding the WHY and WHAT is moot. The new SEO simply IS and they have a solid presentation of the "new SEO" here. The problem is boiling the new SEO down to an infographic chart with little boxes denies the interconnection between each of these pieces of sinew and the highly dynamic nature of this new mobile social web.

Mobile and social are dancing on a fire. One hand of the dancer, the hand holding the phone, pours gas on the fire even as the other hand, the social hand, tries to share the very HOT experience.

SO, focus on one side of this infographic and don't get caught up in why, how, who. Focus on how the new SEO is a tapestry and your marketing may need a massive RETHINK to play well with the new constantly and quickly changing Google.

A Return to Simplicity, Empathy and Imperfection in Communication: Human to Human | Brian Solis

A Return to Simplicity, Empathy and Imperfection in Communication: Human to Human | Brian Solis | Les Enjeux du Web Marketing | Scoop.it

Excerpt from the guest post by Bryan Kramer, author of the new ebook "There is no B2B or B2C: Human to Human", and published on Brian Solis Blog.
"Marketing has become so complex, in segmenting audiences into “B2B” (business to business) and “B2C” (business to consumer).
This, plus the rise of social, digital and mobile channels, have created an atmosphere of anonymity.
I fear that the social/digital/mobile world has created an angry mob of anonymous reactors who take short form communication literally.

That’s where “H2H” came from.
The dawn of a more social web, i.e. forums, discussion boards, and pre- Web 2.0 online communities, would eventually equalize the media landscape and give a voice and brand to customers while introducing the need for a human persona in business. As Brian says of P2P, "people are now brands and brands are now people."
This evolution has been guiding our society back into one that requires a more personal approach.

- Speaking Human
Consumers are confused. Why can’t we make it simple for people to understand what we’re selling, so they can more easily share their experiences and the value they felt with others?
Don’t care what language you speak, who your brand is or what message you’re trying to send, we all need to speak more human.

- A Human Approach: Social Sensory Marketing
The future of social marketing involves “human sensory building”, and how it will become necessary to intertwine this approach into the marketing experience at each stage of the customer lifecycle. When we are able to weave directly relatable human experiences into social situations, it changes how we share and consume information forever.

- Customers are Fickle Humans
Customers, as humans, are fickle and are so empowered today that they expect extraordinary, over-the-top experiences that rock their world.
Customers are ready to move on unless they have one thing – an undying relationship with a person or people at your brand who made them feel uniquely special.

- Becoming Better Storytellers
Humans require context to understand concepts. Without boundaries, short bursts of communication, coupled with a faster-paced, noisy society and shorter attention spans is affecting how we, as humans, tell stories.
We need to become better storytellers. Storytelling is a great way to communicate how you feel, or how you want your audience to feel. A story helps us understand how things fit into our individual experiences and gives us context to make decisions. Stories add the color, personality and relevance about what you’re trying to sell..."
