Digitale Medien sind, so selbstverständlich wie nie zuvor, Teil unseres Alltags. Damit verbunden sind Befürchtungen, dass vor allem die intensive Computer- und Internetnutzung negative Konsequenzen aufweist. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt einen Überblick zum Forschungsstand über die Auswirkungen der Nutzung von Computer und Internet. Neun populäre Mythen werden identifiziert und mit Hilfe einer Zusammenschau von meta-analytischen Befunden auf deren wissenschaftlichen Gehalt überprüft. Im Mittel der aggregierten Ergebnisse finden sich keine Belege dafür, dass die Nutzung digitaler Medien zur sozialen Vereinsamung führt, gesellschaftlich-politisches Engagement verhindert oder die selbstberichtete Einsamkeit erhöht. Die Zusammenhänge zwischen Internetnutzung und Wohlbefinden bzw. Depressivität sind sehr klein, aber signifikant, wie auch die Zusammenhänge zwischen der Nutzung von Bildschirmmedien und Übergewicht. Im Mittel zeigt sich ferner, dass das Lernen mit Computer und Internet, inklusive Lernspiele, positive Konsequenzen haben kann. Allerdings sind die negativen Auswirkungen von gewalthaltigen Videospielen auf aggressives Verhalten und Erleben ebenfalls gut belegt. Die Befunde werden mit Blick auf populärwissenschaftliche Publikationen sowie die Rolle der Psychologie diskutiert.

In this age of abundance of information, shifting classroom pedagogy isn't nearly enough to make learning in school more relevant and authentic for the learner. Self-directed learning (andragogy), and self-determined learning (heutagogy) are the ideals necessary in making students "future ready" to live and learn in a web connected world.


While original research applied these concepts to mature learners, it has become apparent that even young children have an abundant capacity for recognizing and directing their own learning. Anyone who has observed toddlers learning how to walk and talk understand the motivation and skill development that quickly develops during these processes.


Considered by some to be on a learning continuum, self-directed learning and self-determined learning have at least one distinct difference.   Re: Contact with School System Employees and Presence on School Property

Dear Ms. Cook:

     As you are very aware, I represent the Wilson County Schools. This letter is intended to provide you notice that you are no longer to communicate with school employees or set foot on the campus or property of the Wilson County Schools for any purpose whatsoever.

 

  Due to your harassing nature of communications with school employees, and your propensity to file unfounded complaints against school system employees, you are not to contact any school system employees or be present on the Wilson County Schools' property.  All communications regarding your pending due process petition, or otherwise involving any of your children, will be directed to, and received from, myself as the attorney for the Wilson County Schools. If you contact school system employees, they will not respond. If you disregard this letter and are present on school system property , you will be subject to criminal prosecution under the North Carolina criminal trespass laws (N.C. Gen. Stat. Ch. 14, Art. 22B). 


There are no circumstances under which school officials should have to fear baseless allegations or for their own safety, particularly from a parent with no children in the school system, while they are trying to go about their normal duties. There are significant potential consequences if you fail to regard this notice with the seriousness with which it is intended.


  The school system regrets that this action is necessary but adamantly believes it to be so, based on your conduct.

This was sent as the result of the City of Wilson,NC Police Department Intake Officer S. Moore reviewing the evidence presented which included a portion of the"Due Process Petition  " required Court Case procedure  Resolution Meeting which took place 2.18/2013 Docket Number 13-EDC-07545 but changed by Wilson County Schools Attorney Rachel Hitch per said court documents to Docket Number 13-EDC-07547 allowed by NC OAH without proper procedures being filed. Officer S, Moore filed Police Report stating Dorothy Cook, Prose rep was" Assaulted" by Wilson County School Exceptional Children Director during the NC OAH required Court procedure.  There also was a complaint filed with the Wilson County Schools Board also. As well as with the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearing as the case was a Special Education Contested Case filed Prose because of the indigent financial economic status of the family which as a result there was no financial means of paying for an attorney and all the "free" legal aid assistance including some neighboring area law schools that sometimes take cases of their interest had no available assistance and or such organizations as ECAC had limited intended issues they were assisting with and some was just simply not in the family jurisdiction to help. As the damages and harm done to Dorothy Cook by WCS Officials during and in direct relations with said NC OAH Special Education Contested Court Case 13-EDC-07545 was the reason that the presiding Judge Augustus Elkins allowed Prose Rep. Dorothy Cook to withdraw her case 13-EDC-07545 without prejudice as due to the severity of harm and damages done she could not continue with said case. As WCS attorney February 18,2013 dated letter and its effects did have and continue to have extreme negative effects even to the added point that the school aged children of Dorothy Cook is denied and deprived of their Human RIGHT to enroll and attend Wilson County Public School  a NC Public School  for several years continually as the results of the harm and damage done to their parent during and directly associated with said case and Wilson County Schools Officials she can no longer home her children and has given Wilson County Schools attorney and many others but non were or are Wilson County Schools Employees notice of such and they know as special needs children that education should be consistent but they are killing these children by educational neglect as NC Public Schools are not held accountable by NC Attendance Compulsory Law as the criminals they are and the NC BODY OF GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TO ALLOW IT TO BE DONE but in the history of North Carolina their has never been a "WHITE" child(ren) and or their parent denied and deprived and education and made to receive no education at all that was school aged qualified , special needs qualified and a NC District Court Judge has stated per his findings in a separate but related court case that the parent had met all that is required by her per NC law for the child(ren) to be enrolled and attending NC Public Schools the LEA which the parent and her school age children reside in and has mad and continue to make requests for her children to be enrolled and attend Wilson County Public Schools to Rachel Hitch only per her February 18,2013 DATED LETTER OF REPRISAL  as written in part above but no such instruction has been provided and as a result even the more harm and damages occur daily as their determination to learn is destroyed as when hope is removed when no education at ALL continues and their hearts breaks they cry both inside and out and not even the Courts per Wilson ,NC District Attorney Office states has any jurisdiction to criminally prosecute the Wilson County Public Schools Officials as there is no law on the Book to prosecute them criminally by but there is for parents, guardians and students that apply by usage of NC Compulsory Attendance Law but again NC Public Schools Officials such as Wilson County Schools does not apply at all. As parent made contact with the Wilson County Department of Social Services Child Protective Services for help with getting child(ren) in school it was stated she was not unfit parent therefore their is nothing they can do as they have no jurisdiction over or in the Wilson County Schools System themselves. Parent contacted Juvenile Delinquency Department Wilson,NC , Mr. Mike Walston in regards to the children possibility of having charges filed against them well 1 child at that time as she still is a minor in elementary school grade but Mr. Mike Walston said It appears she was not allowed to attend school which makes the situation much different its not that she is not willing or trying to attend school so he didn't there would be any reason for charges against her as she is now 12 years old and her highest grade graduated is the 3th grade and 2014-2015 is the 3rd nc public school year she is being denied and deprived her right to attend nc public schools for complete nc public school yea at a time!   I ASK IS IT A CRIME OR NOT ?   THIS IS OPEN LETTER NC HAS BEEN ASKED TO CHANGE THE NC COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE LAW TO INCLUDE THE NCPUBLIC SCHOOLS OFFICIALS AS THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN TO ANY OTHER PARENT AND CHILDREN WITH A  CRIMINAL MEANS OF EQUAL PROSECUTION BEING AVAILABLE AS IT IS A CRIME THAT IS ONLY NOW IN NC PROSECUTIABLE CRIMINALLY BY LAW IF A PARENT , GUARDIAN AND OR STUDENT IS ALLEGED AS BEING IN VIOLATION OF IT BY NC PUBLIC SCHOOLS OFFICIALS AND AS SUCH THE NC PUBLIC SCHOOLS OFFICIALS ARE ABUSING ITS POWER KNOWING THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED AND USING IT JIM CROW SWING SO LOW TO EDUCATE THE NIGGERS NOT AS NOT DONE IN PAST TIMES TO KEEP AFRICAN AMERICAN CHILDREN FROM BEING EDUCATED IN THE NC PUBLIC SCHOOLS SYSTEM ! BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH WE ARE NO LONGER MASTERS SLAVES WE REFUSE TO ALLOW THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA TO USE THEIR JIM CROW METHODS TO WHIP OUR CHILDREN BACK TO A TIME WHEN NIGGERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO LEARN TO READ ONLY THE WHITE CHILDREN WAS SO NOW SEGREGATION INCLUDES WE JUST WANT LET THEM ENROLL OR ATTEND THEY TO POOR AND DISABLED AND WILL DIE OUT AND DEAD CHILDREN DONT NEED AN EDUCATION! NC PUBLIC SCHOOLS STATE SUPERINTENDENT JUNE ST. CLAIR ATKINSON HAS SENT HER BEST WISHES WITH NO EDUCATION  AS SHE TO KNOW THEY ARE RECEIVING NO EDUCATION AT ALL BUT SAY'S ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM MAYBE SHE IS WAITING FOR THEIR FUNERAL INVITATION TO ENROLL THEN IN SCHOOL BUT AS THEY SAY THEN DEAD CHILDREN WANT NEED AND EDUCATION,NC ITS TIME FOR EDUCATIONAL CHANGE NOT THAT WHICH JINGLE BUT THE MAJOR DOLLARS THAT FOLD!

In Teaching Crowds, Dron and Anderson introduce a new model for understanding and exploiting the pedagogical potential of Web-based technologies, one that rests on connections — on networks and collectives — rather than on separations. Recognizing that online learning both demands and affords new models of teaching and learning, the authors show how learners can engage with social media platforms to create an unbounded field of emergent connections. These connections empower learners, allowing them to draw from one another’s expertise to formulate and fulfill their own educational goals. In an increasingly networked world, developing such skills will, they argue, better prepare students to become self-directed, lifelong learners.
