Compounding pharmacies are not subject to FDA inspection or approval. As a result, the FDA is unable to guarantee the safety of drugs in the U.S.prepared by a compounding pharmacy. The FDA, doctors and patients may not be aware a drug was prepared by a compounding pharmacy.
