What a tease, this guy was. In an era when people (myself included) cannot seem to even wait for a few days before 'publishing' what they write (in the most generous interpretation of the word publish), how does one judge this guy who wanted stuff he wrote to be published half a centuary after his death.

I don't actually agree with Lahiri since so many of my favourite authors are American - but how sad it is not to see more literature in translation, and a more level playingfield for authors across the world. Good topic for a debate anyway!

Aan de hand van cijfers over het gebruik van eBooks wordt geconcludeerd dat deze voorlopig nog niet de gedrukte boeken zullen vervangen. Slechts 5% van de Amerikanen die lezen, leest uitsluitend eBooks.
