A Twitter Search Trick You Didn’t Know About

A Twitter Search Trick You Didn’t Know About | Writing, Research, Applied Thinking and Applied Theory: Solutions with Interesting Implications, Problem Solving, Teaching and Research driven solutions | Scoop.it

An undocumented Twitter search operator helps you find the best tweets for any search term based on the retweeted or the favorited count.

... The engagement filter surfaces the best tweets and removes the noise from Twitter search results but the most surprising part is that Twitter has not made this filter available outside Tweetdeck. You don’t even have it inside the official Twitter app.

Well, here’s the trick. You can actually filter tweets by engagement level on the Twitter website or inside any Twitter app using an undocumented search operator that Twitter doesn’t want us to know about....

Top Tech Trends & People of 2012 (Focus on New Media Communications)

Here is the textbook that I created/curated for teaching my New Media Technology class during the Spring semester of 2012 at Hannam University's Linton Global College. I took great effort to give credit where it is due. I aimed to show my students how they could access enough free info on the web that was of equal or greater value than the wonderful information found in expensive textbooks. Feel free to share and please support the true authors of this book in any way you can (money, likes, blog comments, links, etc.) I am simply the currator of this content.

If you would like a free tablet-friendly PDF file, just email me at kenmorrison30 @ yahoo.com (no spaces)

P.S. There are some typos and honest mistakes in this textbook, but I am comfortable sharing it as is. I am excited to redesign it for next semester.

Sometimes, when I get up in front of fellow educators and academics and say I study scholarship and…Twitter, I end up feeling like I’m doing stand-up comedy. Really? Twitter? say people’s eyebrows. I am becoming a great student of arched eyebrows.

It’s nice to have a support network of smart librarians to talk to and learn from on Twitter. I’ve compiled a list of 125 librarians I recommend following on Twitter.
