In Response to "Redefinition" - SAMR | learning habits | Scoop.it

Nicole Kotoski's curator insight, March 31, 10:38 PM

This is very true. While we try and reach up to the highest post (redefinition) in the SAMR model we should also be looking at the learning that takes place.  Technology should always support the learning of our students. To enhance and build the process. We need to provide each student with a learning experience relevant to them and reflect on the ways we incorporate the technology within the classroom. We need to teach WITH ICT as opposed to learning about it.  I like that this model makes you think about how you use technogy within the classroo. It can make for re-evaluation and improvement about working with technology.

Hazel Kuveya's curator insight, April 10, 10:41 PM

The SAMR model is very practical in modern day learning, it is interesting to learn that the focus is on using ICT to facilitate learning.

Channylt's comment, April 11, 2:55 AM
I agree with @Nicole Kotoski that technology should support the learning of the students, and I the SAMR pool diagram is a smart way to look at the model rather than a goal to reach the Redefinition stage - I see it as being a model to see how technology can facilitate learning and where certain technologies fit in that model or how technology can be used in learning whether its just at the enhancement phase where technology is used to functionally change the way we are learning e.g. reading a hardcover book to reading an e-book the technology is changed but we still have to read the content… Transformational learning comes from technology re-defining and re-designing how we learn, what we learn that have previously been inconceivable.
