R Sutton's curator insight, July 30, 2015 3:54 PM

Caution is absolutely necessary in my opinion. Online learning will suit many people at various times and may further democratise learning and deliver learning that is more sharply focussed on specific individual or economic needs, but in the foreseeable future a blended model is more likely to be appropriate. The difficulty may be that face to face instruction/mentoring/inspiration may increasingly lie only in the domain of the wealthy (or wealthy nations). We must never forget the impact of inspirational teachers, especially with adolescents.

MOOCs Emerge As Disruptors To Corporate Learning

MOOCs Emerge As Disruptors To Corporate Learning | Learning Design | Scoop.it
Three years ago, Thomas Friedman, Op-Ed Columnist for the New York Times wrote the forward looking column Come The Revolution where he summed up the disruption of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) on higher education in this way: “Big breakthroughs happen when what is suddenly possible meets what is desperately [...]

Some interesting observations and conclusions as to the potential disruptive effects of MOOCs on corporate learning. However the sample size of the survey discussed is quite small. The high cost of developing a MOOC continues to be a barrier for any but the largest corporations. But reviewing what developers of MOOCs are finding to be the most successful learning strategies and activities for their students is very useful information that can be applied to other learning delivery methods.

Genial a utilização da taxonomia de Bloom nesse infografico das possiveis atividades em formato "blended"(mix presencial e on line)

Dr. Melissa A. Bordogna's curator insight, March 26, 2015 1:59 AM

At a glance, I thought this a helpful infographic.  It also made me think of the types of feedback I give my students.  In addtion to using a rubric (marking criteria), I tend to provide a fair bit of written feedback.

How about you...Which types of feedback have you found to be very effective in terms of student learning (as oppose to time-saving for us)?

Karen Ellis's curator insight, April 1, 2015 6:57 PM

Designing and planning assesment in online learning is very important.  This infographic reminds us of the importance of making the task student centric and that  ongoing feedback is critical.
