The Evolution of Gamification Infographic

The Evolution of Gamification Infographic | Learning design | Scoop.it

A concept that has received a fair degree of buzz over the past few years is “gamification” – using a game for non-recreational purposes such as training, marketing, and customer engagement. Another area where there has been interest in harnessing this concept is in employee selection. The ... http://elearninginfographics.com/the-evolution-of-gamification-infographic/

I like this "framework" to create gamification particularly Chou's 8 Core Drives:

1) Epic Meaning and Calling

2) Development and Accomplishment

3) Expression of Creativity and Feedback

4) Ownership and Possession

5) Social Pressure and Envy

6) Scarcity and Impatience

7) Curiosity and Unpredictability

8) Loss and Avoidance

GREAT post on the HOW TOs of #gamification.

Gamification of the enterprise

Gamification of the enterprise | Learning design | Scoop.it
How to successfully add game features to corporate processes...

SUMMARY: Enterprise gamification can be productive but risks pitfalls -The "gamification" of enterprises is seen as a replacement for often ineffective leaderboards and other traditional incentives. Slalom Consulting used team play to help employees learn their colleagues' names and faces. Allstate ran a contest for suggestions to improve claim-scheduling and crowdsourced a company application. But gamification efforts are not without pitfalls, including unhealthy competitiveness, the need to keep the games fresh and the sense they might be substituting for compensation, some experts say.

As the technology grows more availalbe, the Flipped Learning Model offers some very intersting potential related to :Bring Your Own Device.  While in the process of solving a problem, a student can access the content material on a tablet, school computer or the student's own smart phone, right there in class.  This keeps it fresh and present when needed.

5 Simple Tools For Teachers To Create And Publish Apps Of Their Own - TeachThought | Learning design | Scoop.it

"What with the almost universal proliferation of smartphones among students, even at the elementary school level, it would seem like a no-brainer for an educator to utilize mobile apps as effective and readily-accepted learning tools. And if an educator can’t find an app that does exactly what he or she wants, the logical next step is to develop and publish their own. Besides, what else do they have to do with all the free time with which all educators are blessed?"

Gamification has quickly become a super trend in marketing, customer retention and employee engagement. Check out this new infographic: The Business of Gamification.

Marty Note
Not sure why this is an infographic, but information is helpful and well presented. Gamification WORKS online. Don't be turned off by the famous Forrester report saying 80% of all gamification will fail. Duh, 80% of anything online fails. Gamification connects visitors to your content or THEIR content on YOUR website (even better). Gamification rocks online marketing.

14 Bloom's Taxonomy Posters For Teachers

14 Bloom's Taxonomy Posters For Teachers | Learning design | Scoop.it

Bloom’s Taxonomy is a useful tool for assessment design, but using it only for that function is like using a race car to go to the grocery–a huge waste of potential.

In an upcoming post we’re going to look at better use of Bloom’s taxonomy in the classroom, but during research for that post it became interesting how many variations there are of the original work. While a handful of the charts below only show aesthetic changes compared to others, most are concept maps of sorts–with graphic design that signifies extended function (power verbs), detail (clear explanations), or features of some sort (Bloom’s Taxonomy tasks by level).
