The TERENA Networking Conference (TNC) is the largest and most prestigious European research networking conference - over 500 participants including decision makers, networking specialists and managers from all major European networking and research organisations, universities, worldwide sister institutions and industry representatives attend.
ICVL Project intends to explore and propose innovations in education in the perspective of the Knowledge Society. The International Conference on Virtual Learning has the following objectives: creating a framework for a large scale introduction of the eLearning approaches in teaching and training activities; assisting the teachers, professors and trainers in the use of innovative teaching technologies both in formal education and life-long learning; stimulating the development of eLearning projects and software for education process and systems; promoting and developing scientific research for eLearning, educational software and virtual reality.

In the framework of their collaboration aiming to jointly develop a series of learning programmes in the field of knowledge management, UNITAR and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have developed the course Innovative Collaboration for Development (ICfD), an e-learning course on social media tools.
The overall goal of the course is to empower development professionals to recognize the potential of social media and to make innovative use of these tools to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and reach of their work. The course, therefore, gives participants the opportunity to use and analyze social media tools in light of their adaptability to specific workplace contexts.
UNITAR is pleased to announce the opening of registrations of the seventh session of the ICfD course from 15 October to 14 December 2012.
The aim of the course is to provide frameworks and approaches for designing open ended math tutorial questions that have multiple possible solutions. The course will be practical with ample opportunity to discuss existing tutorial questions and to re-frame them to meet overall learning objectives. Skills from this course can be applied to Mathematics, Science and Engineering courses.
