Matthew Farmer's curator insight, October 27, 2014 3:00 AM

When we consider how much we learn from experiences rather than formal courses, I always find it shocking to think about the scale of the business school industry and their preference for formal learning.

I also find it surprising how difficult many individuals and companies find it to support experienced-based learning effectively.  I am sure that it doesn't help that so much of our early life experience of education is in a formal setting.  But perhaps we just need to understand better how we learn (as both children and adults) to be able to readdress this balance.

Charles Jennings does a great job here in helping companies to understand what they need to do to support experiential learning in the workplace.
