Resulting activity is flash based and you download 3 files. SHould be very easy to upload to your school Moodle.

VotAR (alpha) Card Voting - Similar to Plickers

VotAR (alpha) Card Voting - Similar to Plickers | Web2.0 Tools for Staff and Students | Scoop.it

VotAR is an Augmented Reality audience Voting or audience survey system. Your audience hold some papers with a special printed symbol to vote, and as the speaker you take a photo of it with this app, it will analyze the photo to count the votes.

How does it work ?
1) Prepare a list of "single choice questions" with 2 to 4 possible choice to pick from, to use during a presentation
2) Print and distribute one VotAR paper for each student on a color printer (double sided front and back ; back side can be hand-written). Can be downloaded here : http://poinsart.com/ftp/ste/votar/
3) Ask the question you want to your audience
4) Ask your audience to hold the colored side facing you and rotate it to see on their side the letter of their choice right side up
5) Take a photo of your audience
6) Wait until the results are displayed

Currently only available on Android.

Wonder how it compares to Plickers

Connect Fours - Quiz Template from ClassTools.net

Connect Fours - Quiz Template from ClassTools.net | Web2.0 Tools for Staff and Students | Scoop.it

Another brilliant quiz tool from Russel Tarr of Classtools.net and possibly his best one yet.

The quiz is loosely based on one of the rounds in the BBC Quiz Show Only Connect. The aim is to create four correct groups from a list of items whilst racing against the clock.

The quiz is very easy to set up and create and there is plenty of help along the way. You need a minimum of four groups although you can add more (computer will choose four at random).

You get 1 point for every group you guess correctly and a further point if you later guess the reason for the group.

Add in a password so you can save your quiz later.

The quiz can be embedded, linked to or accessed via a QR code.

Brilliant!

Mobile feature is welcome and would assume that this can be made available on a variety of platforms (including VLEs?)

Trello: Project Management and Organising Tool

Trello: Project Management and Organising Tool | Web2.0 Tools for Staff and Students | Scoop.it

Trello is a sort of project management tool that works a bit like padlet.

You start by creating boards which can be thought of as headings to group things under eg Planning, Designing, Shopping List etc

Once a board is made you then add items to it. Trello calls these "cards".

The cards can be colour coded and moved around in a different order.

Clicking in a card gives you more options like multiple colour codes, voting on the card, creating checklist items for each card (which you tick off) and adding attachments (images, files etc) from Google, OneDrive your Computer etc

Clicking on the Menu you can add in "Power Ups" which includes the ability to add voting to cards (if you make the trello public) and calendar dates (for time sensitive tasks). You can also add in sticker logos (by dragging on to the card).

You can also create an organisation which allows Trello members in your team to contribute to your board and link other boards.

Great example from @philvincent via Twitter - https://trello.com/b/tQdSCAVJ/open-badge-design-board

Kaizena: Feedback via Google Docs and Drive

Kaizena: Feedback via Google Docs and Drive | Web2.0 Tools for Staff and Students | Scoop.it

This is an amazing Google Docs add-on which allows you to make audio and other comments and feedback on students’ work. It’s a wonderfully easy way to mark homework and assignments. Students can also reply to feedback with audio comments.

Whenever a student responds to or acts upon your feedback, you will receive a notification in your Kaizena dashboard. You will also receive an email (you can turn off the email option). Along with new notifications for you, students now receive notifications when you post new feedback for them.

Kaizena notifications are now integrated into the comments section of Google Documents and Google Presentations. When you leave feedback for students through Kaizena a link to that voice comment is added to the comments section of the document or presentation.
