I tell you what, this is not bad at all!

You can even assign to a class. Post out link and students can do tasks. You can monitor how long was spent on each activity and results of quizzes etc. Nice feature that students can comment on each activity too.

Free tool but costs if you wish to set up as a school.

Lots of Flipped learning potential too!

Clue – A fun and easy way to test what people remember on your website.

Clue – A fun and easy way to test what people remember on your website. | Web2.0 Tools for Teachers and Students | Scoop.it

Clue is a tool that creates super fast memory tests on screenshots of webpages, then lets you see the results. It's perfect for capturing that all important first-impression of a website

gideonwilliams's insight:

This could work well when evaluating students websites or pretty much anything with a visible URL?

Once made they send this link around and see what key features other students write down. They could compare the answers with their initial aims?

Rob Harrison's curator insight, April 8, 10:01 AM

An easy way to find out what sticks out on your website and what people remember. Fantastic free tool.

gideonwilliams's insight:

Lots of really good tools here as well as offering a choice on many of the familiar ones...

Robert Sims's curator insight, March 25, 9:40 PM

After state testing is over, what better time is there to experiment and have fun than create your own games for learning!  Better yet - involve some of your students in the design of some of these games to reinforce learning!

Quandary Home Page

From the makers of Hot Potatoes comes Quandary.

This is awesome. Create web based action/decision mazes. You remember the type, "You are in a room and see 3 objects, which do you pick up..?". You can also build in points score, timings to create a real challenging game/activity.

Quite similar in some ways to Quest software (also free!)

Try some of the examples:

Resulting activity is flash based and you download 3 files. SHould be very easy to upload to your school Moodle.

podcastomatic.com turns blogs into podcasts!

podcastomatic.com turns blogs into podcasts! | Web2.0 Tools for Teachers and Students | Scoop.it

Convert blogs and anything with an RSS feed to mp3 recordings that can be downloaded.

Works pretty well with WordPress although there is only one voice it reads it in (Male/US).

Would work really well if teachers are sharing resources on blog with students eg revision material, homework etc.

With a Moodle VLE - this could work quite nicely?

Can't believe Im promoting a tool for the ipad but this is a really impressive app (why not on android for my Samsung Galaxy tab:o()

A recordable interactive whiteboard that captures your voice and handwriting. You can upload still images and talk through them using the drawing tools on the ipad tablet. Final designs can be viewed through the app or embedded on any browser or VLE.

A couple of good examples - http://www.educreations.com/lesson/view/multiplying-fractions/308687/ and http://www.educreations.com/lesson/view/how-to-read-a-periodic-table-element/342442/

gideonwilliams's insight:

Found this quite by accident. Create worksheets in Word and convert to PDF then upload to site. Convert PDF file into a form by adding a range of form options eg text box, drop downs etc and download.

The PDF then becomes a form that students can complete and save.

Not exactly elearning but very a good simple starter...

Educational Technology and Mobile Learning: 8 iPad Apps to Create Tutorials and "flip" your Classroom | Web2.0 Tools for Teachers and Students | Scoop.it

Not completely sure this belongs here but 8 good tools nonetheless if you own an ipad!

gideonwilliams's curator insight, April 1, 6:14 AM

Some really good apps for creating resources that "could" be used in a flipped classroom or better still, by students explaining their own ideas?

I wonder how many of these are available in Android?

Would work really well as a revision task or plenary.

Hot Potatoes Home Page

Hot Potatoes Home Page | Web2.0 Tools for Teachers and Students | Scoop.it

OK its not really a Web2 tool but its the one I first started using outside of Office and still very effective. Free software to download. has a range of quiz types:

Fill in the blanks

Multiple choice/multiple select

Matching/ordering exercise

Crossword task (my favourite)

Has some really good admin features too in terms of setting timings, scores etc. Also has the benefit of linking to Moodle.

Adding images is a bit of fankle and best done using the picture URL link.
