These might work well with mature learners, but there is still a role for pedagogy. Another key point is are these really separate concepts or is it more likely they overlap along with pedagogy?

Joyce Valenza's curator insight, July 4, 9:28 AM

Interesting new takes to consider.

A variety of skills are needed to become a well-rounded individual. This supposes learning approaches tailored to facilitate acquisition of these skills.

The Future of the Internet of Things [infographic]

The Future of the Internet of Things [infographic] | Leadership Think Tank | Scoop.it

Ever wonder why Google is installing extreamly fast gigabit internet infrastructure when the average person needs 200x less speed? It is because of the future of the Internet of Things. In less than 10 years, the internet will not just be for your phone or laptop, everything will be online.

I’m talking about your car, fridge, tv, blender, air conditioner, front door, and even your wallet. This inevitable future is why google is starting today with affordable gigabit internet. This new wave of device overload will open up revenue and advertising streams to a whole new level.

Today’s infographic states that in 2020, every human being on earth will be connected to 10 separate devices.

I know I’m already using five and I bet one of the most prominent technology coming up soon will be wearable tech. If its for exercising, sports, general information or just making phone calls, wearable tech will be an exciting addition today’s digital arsenal.

Richard Byrne provides three infographics that look at how one might view the world as 100 people. Why choose three infographics? We have many different learners in our classrooms and what works for one may not work for another...thus three infographics. You might use them to launch a discussion on how we perceive information or use them when teaching students about infographics and have them consider which they find best illustrates the information and discuss why it does.

Khanh Fleshman's insight: This relates to Key Issue #1 because it shows the origins of each religion. Also, it shows the various relationships between religions.

Vinay Penmetsa: This shows how a lot of religions are interconnected, and even if people think two religions are completely different, they might have similar roots, just like languages.

Graham Shroyer's religion: This relates to key issue 1 because it shows where religions originated and how they are all connected, like judaism and christianity.

Zahida Ashroff's Insight: This is relevant to Key Issue # 1 because it identifies the origions and relationships of the major world religions of today. These religious branches clearly show the relationships between majorly and minorly practiced religions.

Rishi Suresh:  This shows how, similiar to languages, many religions come in families and have distinct connections between them.

Marcelle Searles's curator insight, January 25, 4:42 AM

Sid McIntyre-DeLaMelena's curator insight, May 29, 12:06 PM

The immense tree of world religions is presented as a graphic to tell connections of world religions and how far they've broken and changed.

The movement of ideas and people have helped caused these breaks in the religion by bringing ideas to new people, mixing with the present culture, and going further from the hearth of the religion.

Why It's Time To Learn Another Language - Edudemic

Why It's Time To Learn Another Language - Edudemic | Leadership Think Tank | Scoop.it
I often hear language learning is much easier when you are younger, and that we must teach our young students another language when they are young so that they can be ‘more competitive’ in an increasingly globalized, connected world. While I don’t argue with that at all, there are many other benefits that come from being …

Kelly Saiz's curator insight, April 15, 8:29 AM

This is a question that I have wondered about. While this graphic gives an abbreviated, visual response to the question, it provides key insights into the issue.

The image cleverly illustrates the signs of narcissism before depicting the negative effects of social media, which include ADHD, depression and narcissistic personality disorder and addiction, among others.

It would be interesting to know the reasons WHY "People who use Facebook the most tend to have more narcissistic or insecure personalities" and why "those who [score] higher in narcissism also posted more often on twitter". While this post points out yet another important issue surrounding social media that cannot be ignored by business professionals and users alike, it does not provide enough information for the reasoning behind its statements.
