"Microsoft 365 is an online version of Microsoft's well known Office suite. Office 365 for Education is free for schools and is already being used by many public school districts and colleges. Office 365 is cloud based and includes Microsoft Office Web Apps, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Lync Online. This is Microsoft's answer to Google Apps for Education. It can be a good option for schools that are heavily invested in Microsoft apps as there would be almost no learning curve or training required. It includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Email, Calendars, web sites, and much more, including the ability to collaborate online with others and even run an online course." "Can't wait for the inevitable release of iOS 6 to get an Apple-sanctioned standalone podcast app of your own? Great news! Those rocking 5.1 and higher can roll on over to iTunes to pick up the straightforwardly named Podcasts, right this very second. The iPhone / iPad-friendly app is designed as a repository for the manner of pre-recorded talk radio-killing entertainment that Cupertino inadvertently helped name. We downloaded the app and took it for a spin."

The more successful you become as a leader, the more other people will demand of your time.
As a result, if you are going to maintain margin for your most important priorities, you will have to make some difficult decisions about your accessibility.
Recently, I was listening to Andy Stanley talk about this very topic. He said,
"The harsh reality of leadership is that the more successful we are, the less accessible we become. As things grow and as more people become involved, a leader can’t be equally accessible to all people. So then we are faced with the dilemma of who gets my time and who doesn’t, when do they get it, and and how much of it do they get."
Your time is a zero sum game. When you say yes to one thing, you are simultaneously saying no to something else. The more successful you get, the more difficult this becomes.
You find yourself saying no to good things—worthy things—in order to say yes to your most important priorities. Via donhornsby Delete the scoop?

To be sure, there are many different flavors of social business intelligence just as there are many reasons why organizations will want to create business processes around the feedback loop that forms. Currently, many of the processes involved are manual and ad hoc as the industry has felt its way forward and learned how to engage more meaningfully with social media. A few companies on the leading edge have increasingly formal social business intelligence processes based on sets of capabilities they’ve acquired or built. Other firms have hardly any technology at all, other than perhaps some reports and spreadsheets. Via Frédéric DEBAILLEUL, juandoming Delete the scoop?

At this point, no single customer engagement channel can deliver marketers a complete picture of consumer behavior. Google knows what you’re interested in, but not what you’ve done. Facebook knows who your friends are, but not what you buy.
Social media measurement is critical to success, but brands have been unable to get their arms around what it is and what it means. Aimia, a loyalty-management firm, has unveiled a new segmentation model that analyzes trust and control as drivers of 6 distinct social media personas. The model is detailed in Staring at the Sun: Identifying, Understanding and Influencing Social Media Users. The report argues that specific social media personas can be identified and directly engaged.
“Today’s approach to social media measurement – racing to rack up the most likes, retweets, followers, and recommendations – is the wrong approach. Marketers must define success not by social media activity, but rather by customer value and engagement,” said Aimia senior VP Doug Rozen, lead author of the report. “Marketers often struggle to understand the true motivations and purchase intent behind customers’ social media activity. Proper segmentation allows marketers to appropriately identify, understand and influence customers through social channels.”

Social media verse is full of some best kept secrets. YouTube is one of them. Yet when I think about cultural shifts enabled by social media, YouTube is the place that comes most vibrantly to mind. It's big, wide and deep.
In my last post I mentioned that the social media ‘verse is full of some best kept secrets. YouTube is one of them.

"There is also a lot to like about iOS. It’s a lean, mean operating system. It’s use of sandboxing keeps it relatively clutter free. iOS doesn’t do a lot, but it’s pretty good at what it does do. That said, deploying iPads at any kind of scale is just short of maddening. While the process of tapping around to install one app on one iPad isn’t too bad, installing a dozen apps on hundreds iPads isn’t a particularly appealing way to spend a month. If you are going to deploy iPads at scale, you need a strategy. You need a battle plan. In addition, you will also need to stay hydrated. I don’t think I’ve discovered the silver bullet, but I’ll share some of my experiences with you in order to, hopefully, shorten the learning curve." Via John Evans, WebTeachers Delete the scoop?

From official website: "KYCK is a digital media platform that discovers, curates, and delivers personalized and highly relevant soccer content to our users. Here are some key features: TOP KYCKS: Hand selected content (sort of) that's based off of all your favorites. My Events: Follow the matches you care about. Because we care about your experience. Never miss a goal, reaction, or a chance to offer your commentary again. My Teams & Players: Select your favorite teams or players and stay up to date on the most exceptional news and information. My Profile: Tell us how great you are, show us how good you look, and share your favorite teams and players. My Feed: Filled with the information from your friends, old and new, along with your teams, players, and favorite accounts...all in real time. From review on Mashable: "With Euro 2012‘s knockout stage underway, there are a number of ways to follow the action — Twitter, TV, online news, or one of the social sports apps that have been proliferating over the past several months. Kyck lets you follow and be followed by other users and get content delivered based on the teams and players you support. Following users means their posts — whether photos, comments on live matches or takes on club or international squads — are delivered to a stream that resembles something of a cross between Twitter and Tumblr feeds. You can tag your own posts by player or team so that they’re filtered into specific conversations. A Top Kycks section, meanwhile, delivers content the app’s algorithm deems most relevant to you for quick browsing according to the favorites you list in your profile. The app is still in private beta."
