Absolutely spot on. you are so entirely correct, so many CMO's feel as if lost in a storm of changing technology and constant black and white noise.

The answer is as you suggest, the CMO  should change focus and see employees as future brand ambassodors. Employees that are empowered and treated by the company as clients and important assets become a company's most powerful marketing force.

Sweidan & Co an innovative Financial Broker recently personally branded all of their consultants via the services of www.yourpersonalbrandname.com.  This has resulted in a steady increase in business, an elevated brand awareness and a shared responsibility in marketing the company, its products and services.

Thank you so much for this article and providing this insight for us, I hope that 2014 showcases many companies that embrace this line of action.

Kip Michael Kelly's curator insight, September 30, 2013 12:46 PM

Research conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers in the United States suggests that pay is an important indicator of the value of an internship to graduate job seekers. A survey found that 61% of students who worked in a paid internship were offered a job when they graduated, compared with 38% of students who took an unpaid position. This helps to explain why U.S. graduates are increasingly challenging the idea that they should work for free in order to gain a foothold in the global job market.
