I personally still have 2 year old tendencies. I ask a lot of questions.. .. really alot. And when I am in the zone, I like all my "stuff around" me; spread out on both my electronic and physical desktops. Hmmmm.... as a result this article made me smile and left me pondering... It seems that no matter where I went over the past few months, the art of storytelling has been top of mind. Storytelling is instrumental when delivering a message, sharing aspirations or when trying to mobilize people.
So how do you get your story told in an environment that has become one that requires immediate gratification? If you have not captured the attention of your audience in seconds, you have very little chance of telling your story. Right? Some time ago, I wrote a post on the 18 checkpoints to consider for storytelling.
I still believe they all hold true. What I have learned since writing that post, is that there is also a need to tell your OWN story.
Expecting resistance to change and planning for it from the start of your chnage management program will allow you to effectively manage objections. Understanding the most common reasons people object to change gives you the opportunity to plan your change stategy to address these factors.
It’s not possible to be aware of all sources of resistance to change. Expecting that there will be resistance to change and being prepared to manage it is a proactive step. Recognizing behaviors that indicate possible resistance will raise awareness of the need to address the concerns.
Business owners and leaders thinking about making a splash in the social arena – don’t.
Winning in the social arena is not about hype or making a splash. It is about a two-way communication, collaboration and a serious commitment. If you do decide to make this commitment, as a leader you also have to think of this as building a new capability
I have been in so many “global organizations” where they use the term global and what it really means is wherever the head office resides ( be it UK, US, Canada, Japan- wherever), the way the business will be conducted in other countries, will be the same as the head office country. So their interpretation of global is that we are doing business IN that country -not WITH that county. Wrong!...
Customers expect your organization to be socially friendly. Social community management and interacting with the public in the social space is a very important role. Corporate leadership in social media should not be absent here.
