The philanthropic landscape is changing dramatically as a new generation of wealthy donors seeks to leave its mark on the public sphere

 

I am re-reading Peter Frumkin's insight into philanthropy and am always struck by his interpretation of a logic model (inputs- activity-outputs-outcomes-broad public impact) using the lens of 'philanthropic intervention.' This is an excellent first step in describing how fundraising can be reconstructed within an organisation to articulate the theories of leverage (philanthropic inputs), change (activities, outputs and outcomes that are able to be produced) and the scale of the impact. (Chapter 6, diagram on p. 175).
