A Visual Guide To Staying Safe On Social Media [Infographic] | Leadership in education | Scoop.it
Staying safe on social media isn't easy. Social networks want a LOT of your information. Here's a visual guide to what you can (and can't) post.

Allan Shaw's insight:

This is a very useful guide. My concern is more that my generation has a very different approach to an expected level fo privacy to that of current teenagers and young adults. This generational difference is due to more than age and experience. I will be curious to understand if these current yong people find privacy more important as they get older! Thanks Gust Mees.

This is important for students who are just out there and, for that matter adults.

Extremely important to educate all about dangers to individual lives when posting personal information--especially vulnerable children.

A Must Have Guide on Using Twitter in your Classroom | Leadership in education | Scoop.it

Another great Twitter resource for educators. This is a special guide full of tips, tutorials, and ways other teachers are using Twitter. Click on any title to access the article. If you are still struggling to find ideas on how to use this social networking site with your students then you don`t need to go any further, the guide below is more than enough for you. I am recommending it for both starters and experienced Twitter users and I am pretty sure you will love it as much as I did. I will definitely add this guide to our Twitter for Teachers section here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning. Enjoy

Probably applies more to senior secondary and tertiary ed, but handy nonetheless.

Twitter is a fantastic tool. I'm using with my class. We have a secure account so not everyone can see us but we can see that is happening in the world. The children love sharing their work on Twitter. We are linked with parents and other classes. The discussions we have around approriate material to put on Twitter and who we should accept as our followers is a real world experience for the students
