When Robert Greenleaf first proposed servant-leadership, it was at a time when insitutions began to play an increasing role. They began to replace some of the communal ways things had been done. We are at a new intersection in time as the digital world emerges. Servant-leadership would be an important fit with its focus on mindfulness, being present, and faith in humans and something beyond us.

It is an act of faith, best defined by coming alongside others, leading by example and helping the people around and under you. Using it allows you to go further in all areas of life, rather than pursuing positional leadership that dominates and dictates your employees."
