Blog and Social Media Resources for Veterans Day

Blog and Social Media Resources for Veterans Day | Leadership | Scoop.it
As our tribute to our cherished veterans, and to help other businesses and bloggers, we've assembled this resource and will continue to update it throughout the years with new links and information.

Thank You, Veterans

Sometimes that's all it takes. A simple thank you. The acknowledgement that we have pride in our veterans and sincere gratitude for their bravery and sacrifice. As Pres. Wilson put it, "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with lots of pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."

If you feel like expressing more. If you want to use a nice quote like Wilson's or a nice image like the one below, it may seem daunting to many businesses and bloggers. What are some good quotes to use? Where can I find images that I'm allowed to use? What's Veterans Day all about to begin with?

Today's article is a tribute to veterans, but it's also a resource for other bloggers and businesses active on social media, who want to share a message of Thanks and Remembrance, but aren't sure where to begin. The post has 25 quotes, a poem, a few images and where to find more for free, and some background information on how Veterans Day got started.

Resource link:  http://www.thesocialmediahat.com/article/blog-and-social-media-resources-veterans-day

And once again, because I can't say it enough, THANK YOU VETERANS! I hope you know how much you're appreciated.

At a time when employee happiness and engagement has reached an all-time low in the U.S., the example of Abraham Lincoln may just be what we need to re-inspire workers everywhere.

(From the article): Why does all this matter? Because leadership matters… Whether through malice or naïveté, those who abuse or tolerate the abuse of leadership place us all at risk. Poor leadership cripples businesses, ruins economies, destroys families, loses wars, and can bring the demise of nations. The demand for true leaders has never been greater - when society misunderstands the importance of leadership, and when the world inappropriately labels non-leaders as leaders we are all worse for the wear.

Finally Ted (@tedcoine), Shawn(@shawmu) and Beth (@mrsnicoletto) at SwitchandShift.com have been gracious hosts, having given me a fun community to interact with and stretch my capabilities to new heights. With friends like these I have found in this online community, I'm truly blessed!
