Introduction to Management Theory | Leadership and Management of Healthcare Systems | Scoop.it

Whatever we think of ‘management’ as a discipline, it is hard to think of any activity within healthcare that does not involve management processes of one sort or another. When they work well they form an essential mechanism to support collaborative effort and mutual commitment. But often, some simple principles are overlooked which could lead to poor communication, misunderstanding and conflict.

Introduction to Health Economics

Introduction to Health Economics | Leadership and Management of Healthcare Systems | Scoop.it

Economics is the systematic study of how we live in a world of limited resources. It provides us with insight into how we make decisions, allocate resources, satisfy our needs and generate value. Health economics does much the same thing, but its principal focus is healthcare (and to a lesser extent health itself). As such, it is an important discipline to be aware of because almost everything happening in healthcare has an economic dimension.
